Tiida fuel gauge problem

Postby Hinds » January 26th, 2015, 7:35 pm

I have a 2009 tiida hatchback doing 78,000km. Brought it in through a friend and ever since the fuel gauge won't go past 3/4 even though the tank is full. Sometimes while driving it moves between 1/2 and 3/4. I'm never sure of the true fuel level so I have to average and fill up ever so often. Anybody else with this problem?

Think I'm going to try cleaning the contacts first before I buy anything.

Air fuel ratio sensor might be the problem

Is the A/F sensor connected to the fuel gauge somehow?

STUPES.
no sir thats not for that purpose.

thats something totally different.
what happen to most of you all, is you over fill gas and cause the unit to get damage/bend.

As a result of over fulling and running the gas light to come on could damage the fuel level sensor is this what you are saying?

when you over fill , you bend the part that shows how much gas is in the tank, the float and the swing for it.

this is a common issue with Tiidas.....after filling your gas tank....before you start the car turn the ignition to the ON position and wait about 5 or 6 seconds before starting the engine. The gauge should go all the way to the F.
