Did you get the OEM part or a generic replacement? Cost if OEM?noshownogo wrote:Thermostat had to change in the wifey mazda3 last week.
Was stuck in a semi open position and car started to overheat with coolant coming out the overflow on the bottle.

trinimotors wrote:Hey guys, i own a 2008 mazda 3 and i'm getting some problems. I have been hearing some dragging scraping noise from the front of my vehicle for some time now. With that noise i've been getting alot of acceleration problems especially when going up hills. Did change engine mounts, align, speed balance almost everything i could think about nothing worked. I read online that it could be the wheel bearing when i carried it to another mechanic for a test drive he said the problem is the Alternator tensioner pulley bearing. What do you guys think?

trinimotors wrote:Apparently the 2008 Mazda 3 don't have an external fuel filter, southern sales checked my chassis number and said it does not carry one. Also my mechanic did a check and found none. So I don't know.

Most new cars the filter is on the pump assembly it is just a strainer "bag"

I get the same thing but, when I asked my mech about it he said was nothing but I might need a second opinion on it. Remember when the A/C comes on it puts an extra load on your belts that the tensioner pulley is supposed to take up. Otherwise if it is not that then it might be the compressor.

well it can't be nothing, cause it makes a hell of a noise outside the car!

Same thing happening with mine. Sounds like a bloody diesel with the ac on.

Can't say that mine that loud though, I hear it that loud if I open my hood. But like I said my suspect is that Tensioner pulley since i had a bit of an issue that i had to get my A/C checked and the guy mentioned nothing about it; mainly I am thinking he might have said my compressor is fooked or on the way to that point if it was.
