WTK:Colder A/C

I checked the a/c thread already and didn't see anything relating to it.The a/c in my car(96' civic) blows cold.On mornings,nights and when rain falling,the temperature drops really cold,sometimes I does have to take it off.During daylight,the a/c is basically like the rest of cars on the road.I had it checked out already and everything is working fine.My question is,would adding a 2nd condenser fan make a difference and if so,by how much?

basically cooling the condenser is priority, make sure the fins are clean, no paint on it....

Air condition is essentially a heat exchanger - from inside the cabin (evaporator) to outside the cabin. ( condenser)

adding a 2nd fan will work - however you indicated you get cold temps when raining means the condenser isn't doing its job efficiently.

you can clean your condenser properly and use a fin comb to straighten out any bent fins. --use any sort of heavy duty foaming degreaser to clean it out...and power wash it- try not to bend any fins.

also check your drier bottle.

it wont hurt to also have to evaporator cleaned as well.

vacuum test to ensure no leaks... and once no leaks pressure up with R134
(or other gas as necessary) and u good to go.

you can also go the more expensive route and install a cross flow condenser- but big improvement.

make sure ur blower setting is set to recycle and not to pull air from outside the vehicle..

Nope..i'm not an air condition tech..all i know is the cross flow units are better at hear transfer than the older serpentine units

forgot to include if youre going to power wash - make sure you use some sort of foaming detergent- that can remove or dislodge dirt and other debris and wash it off accordingly

sometimes u need to let the hot air out for a while before u put on the ac...also, tinting ur car with reflective tint that helps also, I had this same issue a while ago, when rain falling, my glass would frost on the doors, hot sun.....is like nothing coming out.....
