Excellent so far, no different from any other f/used.
I did purely topical or "common sence repairs" like, Oil change, all filters, Tranny oil, Spark Plugs, and Wiper Blades.
I've put about 30,000km on the car so far.
Its been an excellent, no regret senario for me.
When I park at the mall, I get no attention from the car thieves, so thats a plus.
I also own a Diesel Nissan E25. The drivability are worlds apart, I prefer the Prius over the E25.

Many of the negative comments I read here about "prius dead battery" can be summarized as 'uninformed" or "rum-shop-talk". My battery still works great and at 56MPG I can't complain.

Yes, thats was one of the first things I did. Replaced with genuine Toyota ATF fluid. A very easy DIY project.

Super gas, the Engine is a 1490cc 1NZ-FXE, almost the same as in the Axio and Feilder.
Using premium gas in this car is a waste of money. Its cost me Approx $115 for a tank and I can go approx. 1,100 KM with that.

3.2 Triton does a little over 800kms to the tank.
2.5 Xtrail doing about 450kms to the tank(which takes $150 to full from a little under quarter).
1100kms on $115 super is ridiculously good.

I wouldn't say Duane's comment was dead wrong, but I will say his response was more of a "text book" answer where, "In Theory", you'd expect things to be as he described. But as PariaMan set out to show, real-world analysis, so far is proving the Prius is living up to its promise and delivering the results the owners expected.

Never had to change the brakes yet. In fact when you step on the brake pedal in a Prius, the computer first uses the "Motor" to stop the car. If you step hard on the brake, then the pads will be used to stop the car. This is why you can go for years on a single set of brake pads.
My model uses the same brake pads as the Axio, so I can get them locally or via "skybox" when needed.

The engine is hardly used as well so you can go longer between oil changes.
Because the engine is hardly used, and shuts itself off in traffic, it does not heat up the way a common engine does. So oil breakdown due to heat is not an issue.

Remember if you are comparing distance per fill up, you have to consider the size of the tank is a important factor. The Jetta has 14.5 Gallon (55 liter) tank, the Prius has 11.5 (44 Liter) Gallon tank.

I never targeted the Prius. What I said was in response to the question "should we allow 6 year old hybrid or electric cars on the RORO market?". My answer is still "no" for the same reasons I gave in the article. 3-4 yrs is fine. Your car was ~4 to 4.5 yrs when you bought it, so that is not extreme.
