Third body found in Brasso Seco
By the Multimedia Desk
Story Created: Nov 11, 2014 at 7:24 PM ECT
Story Updated: Nov 11, 2014 at 7:24 PM ECT
The Police Service today issued an update on the search for a missing family in Brasso Seco, disclosing that the body of a female has been found. The following is the update -

Around 3:15pm today Tuesday 11th November, 2014, a farmer from the Brasso Seco Paria district, alerted Police Officers involved in the search for the missing Brasso Seco family members of a foul stench emanating from some bushes.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau and the Crime Scene Unit visited the scene where they came upon a decomposing body believed to be that of a female.
The officers are still on the scene.
Earlier today, a post mortem examination carried out on the human remains discovered in a forested area of the Paria Valley, on Saturday 8th November, 2014, has confirmed the adult skeletal to be that of 52 year old Felix Martinez.
However, the post mortem done on the remains presumed to be that of the 14 month old infant, Shania Amaroso, was inconclusive, due to the advanced state of decomposition.
A further forensic examination is required.
A combined search team involving several arms of the Police Service, Defence Force and the Forestry Division has been combing the forested areas of Brasso Seco, in search of the five members of the Brasso Seco family reported missing, on October 28th 2014, to the Arima Police Station.
Still missing are 49 year old Irma Rampersad; her daughters Felicia Gonzales aged 17 and Jenelle Gonzales, 19 years old.
The Police Service has issued an all points alert for the whereabouts of Azmon Alexander alias ‘Pappi’ and ‘Apalon” deemed ‘a person of interest’ and a known fugitive.
Members of the public are being asked to assist the Police Service in the safe return of the remaining family members by calling the hotline no. 708.9956

Police must share some of the blame . Why they let the man go!

TWO police officers from the Mayaro Police Station will be handed their suspension letters today, pending further investigation into the escape of prisoner Azmon Alexander outside the Mayaro Magistrate’s Court on January 31 this year.

Alexander, originally from Ackbarali Street in Malabar, is also known as “Apolan” and “Papi”, who is considered a high-risk prisoner.

He escaped while outside the court after appearing on a number of kidnapping, robbery and firearm-related charges. He had been in jail for the last two years awaiting trial.

Senior sources close to the investigation say the acting corporal and constable who had been escorting Alexander back to the prison van when he broke free will both be handed their suspension letters today.

“They will be suspended indefinitely until the investigation is concluded and then a decision would be made on whether they will be reinstated or not,” a source indicated.

The senior investigator said based on the information they received, the handcuffs that were used to handcuff Alexander to another prisoner were faulty and, in fact, didn’t snap properly, allowing Alexander to easily slip them off, push the officers down and escape.

He was last spotted near a river in the Mafeking area in Mayaro

Police say since then, they have not been able to locate the prisoner who is considered “armed and dangerous”.

An investigator said since the escape, the victims of the kidnapping case that occurred some time ago has since fled the country, fearing for their lives, and gone into hiding.

Senior investigators say the couple fled the country after threats were made on their lives.

And while police continue their investigation into that incident, TV6 News, which exclusively reported on the missing cocaine at the Mayaro Police Station in early January this year, has learned an inspector was recently transferred out of the station and sent to another unit.

Sources say the inspector would have been responsible for ensuring the cocaine exhibits were lodged in the exhibit room, instead of it being lodged with the sentry on duty.

Some 40 of the 46 cocaine rocks were found missing from the court exhibit when the police complainant in the drug matter came to check on his exhibit that was due to be ready for court.

A senior investigator said two other officers are being investigated but admitted “at this time, the investigation is not going anywhere”.

The Express and TV6 News attempted to contact acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams several times on his cellphone for comment on both matters, but at times, his phone either rang continually or there was a busy tone.

ess than three days after the bodies of an adult man and baby were found off the Paria Main Road in Brasso Seco, the decomposing body of what is suspected to be that of a woman has been found.
Police said at about 3.15 p.m. yesterday, a farmer from the Brasso Seco Paria district alerted police officers involved in the search for the missing Brasso Seco family members of a stench emanating from some bushes.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau and the Crime Scene Unit visited the scene where they came upon a decomposing body believed to be that of a female.
A combined search team involving several arms of the Police Service, Defence Force and the Forestry Division has been combing the forested areas of Brasso Seco, in search of the four members of the Brasso Seco family reported missing on October 26, 2014, to the Arima Police Station.
Still missing are 49-year-old Irma Rampersad and her daughters Felicia Gonzales, 17, and Jenelle Gonzales, 19.
The Police Service has issued an all-points alert for the whereabouts of Azmon Alexander, alias “Pappi” and “Apalon”, deemed “a person of interest” and a known fugitive in the case.
Members of the public are being asked to assist the Police Service in the safe return of the remaining family members by calling the hotline number 708-9956.

Man was strangled

The male adult who was found wrapped in a blanket with a baby on Saturday, off a precipice along the Paria Main Road, died as a result of asphyxiation.
This was revealed yesterday by senior sources at the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, who said autopsies on the bodies of the adult and the baby were completed
at the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park by pathologist Dr Eastlyn McDonald-Burris.
Based on the results of the post-mortem on the adult, the man was strangled, most probably with the bandanna which was found around his neck, police said. The results were undetermined for the body of the young child who was found.
DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) samples were also secured from both bodies and are expected to be sent for testing to confirm their identities.
Relatives of the missing family of four in Brasso Seco firmly believe the bodies of the man and baby are those of 51-year-old Felix Martinez and one-year-old Shania Amoroso.
They came to this conclusion after viewing both bodies at the centre on Monday.
While the advanced stage of decomposition prevented the family recognising either of the two from facial features alone, the articles of clothing which both bodies bore were recognisable by the relatives who viewed the bodies.
Yesterday marked 14 days since the family and friend Felix Martinez, 51, were reported missing.
Relatives did not return to the centre yesterday, however, when contacted earlier before police found a third body, Rampersad’s daughter Gail Harford said they were still holding out hope for the three missing women.
“We haven’t been in contact with police today, but we are holding out hope here. We are prepared for the worst, but we are holding out still.
“And I must commend the police and the soldiers. They are working hard; day and night, they are out there. Take, for instance, we know for a fact that two different parties went out this morning and still out there. So we are grateful for that,” Harford explained.

http://www.ctntworld.com/cnews2/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=12652:two-persons-found-in-brasso-seco-forest&catid=137&Itemid=707Police and soldiers have found missing sisters 19 year old Jennelle Gonzales and 17 year old Felicia Gonzales in the Brasso Seco Forest. The discovery was made late on Friday afternoon.

C News understands that police officers and soldiers were given information which took them to Lalaja Trace, where they were engaged in a shootout with two men.

The two young women were later found at a campsite and were taken for treatment. They are expected to be questioned by police.

Authorities have been searching for five persons, including the two girls, who were reported missing from their Brasso Seco home on October 27th.

The five were identified as 49 year old Irma Rampersad, her daughters 19 year old Jennelle Gonzales and 17 year old Felicia Gonzales and her 18 month old grand daughter Shania Amarosa. Another Brasso Seco resident, 52 year old Felix Hernandez, went missing on October 28th.

Officers subsequently found three decomposing bodies in the Brasso Seco Forest.

On Saturday, two bodies, an adult male and child, were discovered.

The adult was later identified as Mr. Hernandez while family members say the infant's clothing was similar to baby Shania's.

A woman’s decomposing body was discovered in the Forest on Tuesday afternoon. Residents identified her, based on her clothing, as the missing 49 year old Irma Rampersad.

Thought one was shot according to a suspect in police custody?

Why kill the baby who can't speak but keep these two who can tell a whole story?

Something is very suspicious in this case imo.

A baby can't reason to keep quiet in a dangerous situation. Child must be was hungry, cold, irritable, getting one set a mosquito bite...and bawling down de place like nobody's business. De noise woulda be a grave inconvenience so they probably wanted to silence the poor child.
