Vegetarian Restaurants

Postby insidious76 » November 6th, 2014, 12:02 pm

Hey guys, Does anyone knows if there's an all vegetarian restaurant in Trinidad?i know you can get vegetarian dishes everywhere, but a restaurant that specializes in strictly vegetarian dishes, kinda like Sincere's on Cipero Street, but one where you can come in and dine. Most appreciated!

Food isn't too bad, ambience is nice, and on Saturday's they have a Hakka style menu, the rest of the days they serve the regular indian cuisine.

I'm not a fan at all of this style of food, but it did taste good.

Also, I've been to the place on ramsaran street, didn't like there that much.

Cool! I'll check them when i wanna carb up since i doubt they gunna have a wide variety of protein sources besides paneer lol. Also that Vegetarian Restaurant on Ramsaran St. is Okish! Palkis over at Centropolis mall should have some good vege options, pretty much anything i've ever eaten there has been delicious.

80 Ramsaran Street Chaguanas, its literally a good stones throw away from the vegetarian restaurant like 2 mins walk down the street. Not seeing anything online for palki central but i guess the one in South is more popular. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_R ... obago.html

But all these restaurants only serve Indian cuisine. Are there any restaurants that serve international dishes that are vegetarian?if not, that sounds like a good business idea, don't you guys think?

I've actually done alot of research into this.
Its a nice idea, but trini people love their meat too much.

You will catch some hindus in your restaurtant around fasting time, and some muslims because there is no meat, nothing to halal.

But other than that, a very small percentage of the population is vegetarian.

Meat eater logic- "why i paying $50-75 for ah vegetarian dish"

Haha! Tru dat! But I was thinking, doesn't anyone get fed up of eating meat and when the season is upon us for whichever religion to fast, wouldn't people like to know that there's a large variety of vegetarian dishes available besides the regular chunky veg., tofu, etc. done another way BESIDES chinese?

Bro, people never get tired of eating meat.

Also vegetarian stuff is quite expensive.

Tofu is expensive- $30-40 for a small pack.
Paneer expensive.

Broccoli expensive.

to make a 1/4 portion of tofu in garlic sauce with broccoli will cost you about $30.

And to make a profit you will have to sell for $35-40. Also you cant just eat that alone. It must be accompanied by rice or noodles both being at least $20 a portion.

Thats $50 at least for a basic vegetarian meal.

$40 is a box of bbq with fried rice + macaroni salad+fresh salad.

what do you think people will buy?

Also if you wanna cook vegetarian food in different styles, the ingredients will increase the cost of the item.

Aside from all this bro, you never know- go ahead and start up your restaurant, me and my family will come and eat.
