Future Project Ga15det or Qg18det

Postby William18 » October 23rd, 2014, 5:40 am

Now I know some ppl say makes no sense doing either just go sr20 or sr20det... Forget it... Am thinking of doing a march project in the future... If you can suggest another engine it wud be nice also... Been looking for info on these projects realised head work is need for the ga but not seeing much on qg18... Thanks...

There's a aftermarket LSD unit for the b14 gearbox which can work . can't recall the name right now.

A small td04 and you set

Have any one of you done something like this? I always willing to listen and learn. Not a fly by night thing here but what about the compression factor? External ignition (msd), uprgraded coilpacks (nice).... Its just power to weight without chassis overkill that am researching.... I aint looking for 300bhp but a suitable balance....

Same concept. Only difference is ur tuning. Standalone or piggy back will be ur friend.

If u going safc, IMO go with emanage blue.

Safc - super AIR FLOW converter. That's it!

Emanage -

Air
Fuel
Timing
VTC/Vvl/vtec control
Anti stall
Map sensor addition

U can boost a stock head and block. Use can use a t25 bb. Tuning is key.

Phantom grip for the ga/qg box.

T25 is a excellent turbo as he said. Perfect for a small engine .

Emanage would be perfect.
But I don't like the stock qg coilpacks. Seen them fail under normal conditions

Lol nah bro.... Already established it will be boosted... I mean like how I cud get lsd box for a ga but might have to use phantom for the qg or if I have to do head work on a ga as seem on a tuner post vs no head work on a qg... Stuff like that am checking but you cleared up most... Thanks....

I saw a qg16 turbocharged up for sale in here self and actually considered turbocharging mine but the costs....sr20 is the answer.
Don't be monkey see monkey do. Can the qg engines stock internals handle the heat and pressure from turbocharging? Or you plan on using water meth to keep cool but what's to stop you from blowing it out?
What you have planned for fuel management and ecu?

Internals can handle a fair amount of boost...
Greddy emanage ultimate...
370cc inj.
Walbro 255lph...
So far from research...

Well to be honest the engine can safely make 200whp from what I research... I honestly find sr20vvl or sr20det in march is a bit overkill... Chassis does get too much licks lol.... I don't want to kill it lol....

Qg is a smaller engine and perfect for a march.
Very shortly I'll show you guys what a qg march can do.

To be quiet honest there aren't much small engines that are turbocharged.
There is the superturbo march engine but those old and you might have to spend some $$$ on it.
The stock qg16 and qg18 have some tempo and might do well as is in a march.

I get fedup looking so I decide 2.0 turbo for it yes and no sense in butchering a good car to for it. Ending up buying one already built.

1.3 efte but its also getting old.... I sold my march superturbo engine and it was capable of handling 20psi with slight upgrades but availablity of certain parts is why I sold it... I have a partner with a qg18 and box in a march... Works gr8 but improvements can always be made and as syndicate said and every aspect of my research said "Tuning" gonna make it or break it"...
