So they can be outfitted to a car but not used. It is just plain illegal to have them illuminated. It is that you are saying?

Xenon i think and so to are my headlights and i have been stoped in numerous road blocks at night with my fogs on and never had a problem. So i think that ur main problem is not ur actual fog lights but is ur HID kit.

What is a super white bulb. I want to belive that xenon can be used in both halogen bulbs as well as HIDs. Does super white refer to Halogen, HIDs or color temp.

A few years ago, LO refused to transfer my old civic with aftermarket fogs. Insisted that we remove them before leaving the pit. It was off at the time.

halogen
wikipedia wrote:A halogen lamp, also known as a tungsten halogen, quartz-halogen or quartz iodine lamp, is an incandescent lamp that has a small amount of a halogen such as iodine or bromine added. The combination of the halogen gas and the tungsten filament produces a halogen cycle chemical reaction which redeposits evaporated tungsten back onto the filament,

HID
wikipedia wrote:High-intensity discharge lamps (HID lamps) are a type of electrical gas-discharge lamp which produces light by means of an electric arc between tungsten electrodes housed inside a translucent or transparent fused quartz or fused alumina arc tube. This tube is filled with both gas and metal salts. The gas facilitates the arc's initial strike. Once the arc is started, it heats and evaporates the metal salts forming plasma, which greatly increases the intensity of light produced by the arc and reduces its power consumption. High-intensity discharge lamps are a type of arc lamp.

wavelength - see pic- it says a thousand words

the more right you go the light gets more and more blue...then purple. also actual light output is decreased.

finally to answer your question - "super white" refers to color temp -kelvin- not necessarily bulb technology...you can have a 6000K halogen bulb....a 6000 K Xenon HID bulb... a 6000K LED bulb.

super white is just the everyday term ppl use.
correct term would be kelvin -ie 4500K....5000k....6500K....etc
