The return of circuit racing to Trinidad and Tobago is cause for great excitement and it is sincerely hoped that this is a beginning of a new permanent era for the sport.
I continue to monitor the progress of the work being undertaken in what appears to be an extremely tight time line and wish to express my real hope that everything falls in place.
If I may be so bold,I would like to suggest that the 'management committee' or its equivalent pay particular attention to safety and how this event would impact on the community and other users of the public roads which will be used by participants, spectators and the general public.
Unfortunately, experience has shown that we throw all our efforts behind physical works, public relations and marketing at the expense of solid 'Risk Management'.
The peripheral risks must be accommodated in the plans.
In the past many accidents and all 'kinds' of craziness on the public roads to and from the venue resulted in negative public appeals and feedback.

Guys,

Had the opportunity yesterday, after 8 years (long await) to drive part of the track along side 2 other race cars for 3 laps.

The feelings, cannot be explained , it was great going down the back straight, up part of front straight & into top corner for the fist time, No problems with the surfaces repaired. Car felt strong & handled well.

It's going to be lots of fun & competition.

TTASA : GT1, the 1.6 class, got 11 & growing.

SEE & BE THERE...

Right now I real vex and I understand I am not the only one ... Apparently there is another event taking place in Barbados on the weekend.

While it was my understanding there was/is to be a strong contingent from Guyana coming it appears with this clash of events can cause some problems regarding participation.

What is the situation currently regarding drivers coming down from the CMRC territories.

This is great news indeed ... Guyana is sending some decent machinery i am familiar with all but two of the drivers cars can awesome include what cars they will be driving but from memory although i am subject to correction those will be evo 7, turbo miata and two civics.

On other forums I am reading the Bajans are sending a Skyline, 2 starlets and a civic.

While this isnt the turn out I was hoping for ... it still includes some very capable drivers in some very fast machines.
