Don't use those, they make poor electrical connections and you really have no idea if an electrical connection is made.. Do the right thing and use solder to make proper secure lasting connections

Those cut through the wires and can compromise it. It will be 100% better to cut and join the wires rather than using those. Look it up if you don't believe me.

You could ask any electrician or car audio installer to help you out in doing the soldering. Run the wires yourself and just get them to make the connections. If you more adventurous, purchase a simple soldering iron / roll of solder (relatively inexpensive) and DIY. There are lots of tutorials on youtube. Use electrical tape to insulate, make sure you wrap the tape tight.

Something I had learned through experience is never skim in making quality connections in a vehicular environment. The constant vibrations will shake loose anything not properly secured..

X2^^ what he said only thing i can say is dont use electrical tape - tends to come off after - instead invest in some heat shrink tubing a wire loom- then seal up the wire loom with the electrical tape.

those connectors also dont insulate from water / chemicals properly- after a while where the connector is gets corroded and then you'll have problems.

Bhagwansinghs
RadioShack

I used these for the same application in two vehicles about 10years ago. Still working fine. They are useful when access to the wires isn't great.

i used the scotch lock and electrical tape im not going to keep the vehicle that long anyway its the nissan e25 new look, brought it down for company use and will sell it in like 3 years, if anything goes wrong in that space of time its an easy fix

Shams electronics has them they work ok. You need to know how to use it properly for good results. It is about $8 for one. 6453530. Shams.

Nothing wrong with the ScotchLok products, it the imitations that give it a bad name and difficulty of use. Better spend $8 once and spend 30 seconds doing a job than $3 and spend 4minutes every 3 years resoldering the now brittle copper wires and after some time run out of wire to do it with

terminal block will work excellent there.

or a barrel lug, but the solder is also a very good bond as said before.

Some applications it's impossible to cut a harness to use a block or barrel

Soldering may also be unwise depending on location

After you rest solder on this joint, it will be stronger than the wire.

It not hard to learn to solder, just make sure the joint hot then rest solder on it :)
Practice on some scrap wire

only thing you did not show is how to solder in that pic... excellent demo on how to splice wires together.

before splicing place heat shrink on wire and travel it down away from the spicing section - as far as u can carry it... splice wires as shown in pic...heat soldering iron and tin the tip of the iron.

place the soldering tip UNDER the spliced wire to be soldered and insert the solder wire at the top - it may take 1-2 mins (depending on the soldering iron wattage) for the joint to actually get hot to draw in solder ...

the pic below is the correct way to solder this type of splice connection.
Image

when you place the soldering iron tip UNDER the spliced joint it heats up the wire itself- then when you push in the solder at the top it actually draws in the solder all through the splice connection.

once complete travel the heat shrink back over the soldered connection and shrink accordingly. 8-)

there are may different soldering irons, soldering iron tips, thickness of wires and different splicing techniques and lastly different ways to solder.

Soldering always better.

Space is also a problem.
