Want to get a gc8 engine and box. Basically the full swap into a ts. How much it's going to cost?

might not make much sense depending on which car he has. Which chassis do you plan on doing the conversion on?

also gc8 parts are kinda hard to sell...since the market is small ( few GC8 men around) so interior parts and other parts that aren't interchangeable (suspension + exterior) may be a bit difficult to resell.
So the only thing he would really use if he doesn't have a GC is the engine and box etc....

Yea. I'll just need the engine and box. The diff and the Axels for the front. Need to double Check the exact parts.
It's a ts. 02-03. Blob eye.
Did not buy the car yet. But it's a sure buy. By September

^^ why would u want to buy a car and do a conversion, spend the same amount of money and stand the risk of encountering a bunch of possible issues.. just spend that same money and buy a wrx / sti

if you have a TS it's best to get a complete 1/2 reason being:
1) you get the entire harness with will be easy to take out and swap in the GD
2) cross-member and front suspension, alxes etc. which bolts on to the GD chassis
3) you can always get the 1/2 cut started before purchase and see the mileage etc.

I know this because I have a GD chassis with an entire GC8 V2 swap and I use the GC suspension in the front...

If you like headache go ahaead with the box and engine alone... but you can always sell the remainder of the GC 1/2 for scrap iron afterwards..

Although you may have a point, you're slightly incorrect a bit.

You can purchase all that is needed.. you simply purchase a conversion. It cost a lot less, the margin would depend on who you're actually purchasing the items from. But apart from that, you won't need all the external body parts, like I mentioned before..

And GC suspension doesn't work on all GD chassis..

Also you can also start and check the mileage of a conversion since they actually (most times) remove it from the actually front half... so you get everything MINUS the body parts.

So that should also be considered.

do some research, if you unbolt every thing from a GC it bolts right up on the GD chassis.... I did it...

I'll end by saying sorry for cluttering the WTB thread...

point taken air wick..but also note i said ON ALL GD chassis...

take a GC suspension and bolt it on a GD 2007 chassis... see how that works out compared to that of a 2002 GD chassis...

everyone is different... i won't ever recommend someone to buy something to "work up" on a car.... if you have a peanut eye..buy peanut eye stuff.. if you have a GC, buy GC items..... thats MY take at least.. everyone is different like I said...

Apart from which, a GC is lighter than a GD chassis... swapping 2002 GD on a GC, thats okay...

but telling someone to put suspension that was meant for a lighter car on a heavier car isn't a smart idea.. if you did that, well its working for u..

but whatever floats someones boat..i can't tell someone to not use something that wasn't meant for their car.
