I don't understand the firearm part. Did he have a holster on his belt or did he have on a jacket?

I could understand if he had on a jacket and it was hidden, but for someone to just be putting their hand by their waist and he didn't even have a holster.....ain't making no sense. Unless he talking about the gun in he jockey.
