Recall was done for Pear-D 20oz even though SMJ was cleared and bottle was found to be tampered with.

No Recall on the Trinidad Juice even though SMJ is cleared, and tins are showing no signs of tampering.

Trying to make sense of this all..

You really out to get SMJ today Pandora.

On a serious, in the case of the pear d issue, the drug was mixed with SMJ product and their was a batch number to recall. In this case, SMJ isn't sure if it is their can and also what was in the tin appeared to be all cocaine, not a mixture of our product and the drug.

On a personal note, it amazes me to see how quickly trinis are ready to jump to conclusions and condemn a local manufacturer without knowing all the facts.

Not only Trinis..
Happens all over the world.

Americans would've been calling for a Boycott of your company's products since the Pear-D scandal.

^^ Pandora there was a "voluntary" recall because, at the initial stages of the investigation the UK as well as local narcotics authorities did not know whether the tampering occured in Trinidad or the UK.

This saga is epic and I’m looking fwd to how it unfolds.

I not sure how all this going to work out in an economic light, we’re wasting money cleaning up spilt money in la brea. Oil has a huge impact on our economy.

Then we drug money revenue getting messed up. And that drug money us helping build business here in Trinidad like how it did Miami.

All the while, the international market investors aren’t going to be interested in us anymore. It seems our entire country/govt(-run organizations etc) maybe corrupt not with just bogus constructions etc, but drugs too, and the negative image our products getting isn’t helping the global image….

we gwan end up like JA, jus we eh have mo-bay

is smj basing their colour difference on pics supplied by the yankee media or did they actually get a sample label ?
if not then they looking real bad to be using that as a basis
better to not say anything

They're basing it on the pics. Cause to have a sample label would mean that DEA is handing over evidence to them or their lawyers.

It's like grasping at straws if you ask me..

To date they've sent out 7 or so updates since the drug bust and all with really flaky excuses and reasoning.
Best they stayed quiet until all was revealed and then present one STRONG, Defensive Statement.

All the statements SMJ making seems counter-intuitive imo, and are subject to scrutiny as seen here and on social media sites.

Just release a notice saying that you are willing to cooperate with investigators in any capacity if and where necessary.

that release was pretty poor too,
a competent authority would treat everybody as a suspect at the start
and hence would not want to negotiate with any and everybody just so

Exactly how I've been feeling the entire time.
"WHO DID IT?" Just seems like one big red flag to me.

Added to which, how quickly the gov't has cloaked them with their protection- it just doesn't seem right.

Just my opinion.

How could you not know any of your counterparts? But you know all the PNM.

Maybe it's like how your UpperMiddlesClass yet don't associate with big businessmen or move in those circles but rather the dregs of your neighbourhood.

Makes sense. True.
