Having a static problem please help

Postby Crawlerz92 » January 18th, 2014, 8:57 am

Yes tuners recently hooked up a lil system in my ride, i ran the main current wire on the left side of the car and the rca jacks by the center console. While driving im getting a slight static noise from the engine but when i turn on the ac it gets really loud :( . I have tried repositioning the ground, using a direct power and ground from the front battery to the deck and still nothing. What can i do to stop this irritating ting?

If you can, try the system with the rca unplugged from behind the head unit.

If its still there find a new path for your signal cables, if its not then you have the infamous pico fuse plague.

The rca might be too close to the ac blower motor. I had that issues once and had to reroute it

^^^THIS..OP ensure all grounds are secure and such.. reroute the signal cable and upgrade to cables with better shielding- stinger level 2 or so...

Sounds to me like:

Strip a piece of wire, wrap it around the RCA and screw it down to the deck.
See if that helps.

EDIT: Like this

It happened to me when I had this:

I used that method and once properly fastened and secured, never gave a problem again.
