My respect for this individual is informed by facts of his achievements for his country and his fellow people (and even the global community).
The achievements I refer to came with unquestionably hugh personal sacifrice,which average people would never comtemplate subjecting themselves to.
I may have expected this 'icons' passing,but the loss is still painful.
..NEVER WOULD I FORGET OR DIMINISH YOUR WORTH!

Nuff respect but that's how idol worship began.

Probably the majority of this couple of generations that use computers and internet don't know much about Mandela's struggles, so it may not be their/our fault.

All respect, all praise, all worship is due to GOD Almighty. Ppl go overboard and idolize "great ppl". Everyone has shortcomings, pray to GOD to forgive him, no matter how small they were, he will be judged by GOD just like everyone else...but don't idolize him.

But on a serious note, this funeral is expected to be the biggest funerals ever and alot of the world leaders are expected to attend. Infact preparation for Mandela's funeral has employed more resources than that of the South African soccer world cup finals some years ago. Several stadiums across the country will be fully staffed with security, large screen live broadcast of the funeral. I will be attending the funeral service at the main stadium in Johannesburg , will take some pics for the fellow tuners that may be interested.

Mandela did alot for apartheid and although all i know is what i've read about him, he seems larger than life for my south african friends who worship him.
