FD3S 20B BUILD

Postby ROTARY BRAIN » May 9th, 2013, 3:29 pm

After a couple years wanting to do this swap, I have finally decided to go ahead with the build. I waited to see if i could locate a "C" OR "D" series engine but it was hard to find so i settled on a "B" series, I figure i shud be safe with a 10psi tune around 450-500 HP.

Parts List include:

Medium Street Ported 20B Engine
To be Rebuilt with Als Apex Seal and Stock Mazda Seals and Gaskets
FD3S Titanium Exhaust sleeves
Defined Autoworks Stock Subframe Kit
Defined Autoworks Shortened Lower Intake Manifold
Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 with long flying lead wiring harness
AEM Smarts Coils
KG Parts Secondary Rail With Bosch 1600 Injectors
Stock 20b Primary Rail with FD 850 Injectors
Bosch 044 Lift Pump
ATL 1.5 Litre Surge Tank
Aeromotive A1000 High Pressure Fuel pump
Aeromotive Fuel Filters
Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator
Earls 25 Row dual oil coolers
Mocal Oil thermostat
AFCO Dual Pass Radiator
FD3S Water pump and housing
FD3S Throttle body
Turbonetics GT-K 850 with a 0.96 AR exhaust housing
Tial 60 MM wastegate
Tial 50 MM Blow Off Valve

Thats Basically the Route I have Chosen to go, Any inputs and suggestions are welcomed.

Presently My 13b Single Turbo is out of the car, since no one appreciated the parts i had on this engine and didnt want to pay my asking price, I am having the engine transplanted into a First Gen.

Next step is to do a wire tuck and have the engine bay re painted while i wait on the subframe mounting to arrive from defined autoworks. Pictures to follow, estimated time for build approximately one year as i dont want to rush the project.

sorry for the lack of updates but without the the subframe kit from defined autoworks there isnt much that can be done. He said in a couple of weeks I should have it, hopefully that happens and I would have the engine installed.
