While the OP was wrong for insulting the Cashier, at the end of the day, the customer (OP) is always right. The cashier had no right to refuse the transaction and him being late is not the customer's concern or fault! If he was late management should have mad necessary arrangements. Emotionally it is the establishments job to make sure their customers are satisfied at their place of business.
Btw. Chavez is a wuss!
