Gas Stations closed ?

Is there a gas shortage or transport problem ?
I notice since this morning a trend with NP stations being closed.
Fyzabad, Oropouche, Princess Town.

A FUEL tanker exploded into flames on the compound of a service station in Central Trinidad on Wednesday, with several nearby homes being damaged by burning projectiles.

Three homes at Chickland Road, Caparo were scorched, but a village bucket brigade was credited with saving the buildings from being destroyed.

No one was injured in the incident , which happened at around 6.30 p.m. when a truck delivering gasolene to a National Petroleum service station was filling underground tanks. The driver of the truck along with service station attendants, were able to escape.

Resident Fazad Mohammed, whose house was partially burnt, said flames more than six metres high surrounded homes as burning fuel flowed into surrounding drains.

Mohammed said his nine year old neighbour ran into the road when the fire reached a room at the back house where he was doing his homework.

Thick black smoke blanketed the area for several hours.
Fire officers from the Chaguanas Fire Station extinguished the flames.
