Apple Airport Extreme
http://www.amazon.com/Apple-AirPort-Ext ... 00DB9WCR6/

• Ultrafast 802.11ac Wi-Fi; Reach data rates of up to 1.3 Gbps
• Simultaneous dual-band 802.11ac WiFi support
• New 6.6-inch height with smaller 3.85-inch base
• 6 antennas located at the top allows for a faster and more powerful connection
• And as a cool added bonus it has extra easy setup with Macs and iOS devices, but it works with any brand of device, PC, phone, tablet etc

TekRevue reports, “Apple’s router achieved the fastest overall throughput at 547Mb/s while in the same room as our laptop. Belkin AC1200 and Linksys EA6500 took a narrow second and third place, while the Netgear R6300 fell significantly behind. We were surprised by this result, and we ensured that the router was configured for maximum performance, but the slower speeds persisted throughout the 10 iterations… Overall, the AirPort Extreme is the best 802.11ac performer from nearly all locations, with the Linksys in a close second place.”

Switched from Linksys to Asus routers about 5 years ago and haven't looked back since. If you need a dependable router with the bells and whistles that the other manufacturers charge a premium for, then go for the Asus.

wow...first time i seeing the airport extreme....6 antenna setup sounds beastly.

OP if those are ur choices, I would go with with the R6300.......then again the Asus one looks great as well.

i might buy this one:

Hi guys

Had an old Linksys and bought a new one linksys e2500. I getting extremely low speeds with it. I'm 10mbs but getting between 1 and 3 mbs down. When im connected directly to my modem im getting my 10mbs down. Is there a known problem with some routers and FLOW internet.

Did a search for a router thread, this seemed like the best thread to ask. Looking for somewhere I can purchase an ASUS RT-N66U locally. After some google searches and a friend helping me decide I'm going with that instead of the ASUS RT-AC66U as it's just overkill for my basic needs.

If I can't get this locally I guess I'll have to skybox it.

Thanks.

Just skybox it. There's no duty anyway.
Care to guess how much more you would pay if you had to buy it locally?

That AC66U is excellent

Yeah I can imagine the mark up but I just wanted to compare the costs really. I know the AC is a beast but its a bit much for my simple needs. Maybe if I catch a vaps when I ordering I'll get it instead lol, but thanks for the reply tho.
