No, what I'm saying is that while others debate over the function, performance and usability of different brands/models/whatever, YOU harp on sales figures. And those figures do NOT depend on the whole list there YOU mentioned (not me)
Basically what you're saying is "Hey, millions of teens buy it because of social pressure, so it's a great product"
How about discussing the real factors of the product?
And you do that every time meng. You're like megadoc. Don't be megadoc dude, don't.

How is there social pressure to buy iPhones?

Maybe people buy it cause it works for them. I've been using iPod almost 7 plus years now, so when the iPhone 4 came out it seemed like the best move for me cause then I could sync up my super cool Don Henley playlist with out any fuss.

Hey it's got to be social pressure. After all that's what people read online so it has to be true. No social pressure with Android though. Websites don't tell people that is the case so people can't say that about Android. Apple forced you to buy their device. It's true. Don't ever question the logic lol.

LoL. There is. You eh know people or what? Same thing with Nike to an extent. Look some children don't want to go to school without a Jansport.

But the truth is great products garner that kind of response.

Also some people are obsessed with getting the "latest".

Have a coworker with a perfectly working Galaxy Note 2. He always wiping the screen etc. He ready to pitch that aside and buy a Note 3 yes. Makes no sense to me but that's his decision and money yes.

Apple and Samsung both make great products. Pick yours and be happy. All these stats and mudslinging unnecessary in my book. But that's just me.

Hearing yourself?
Friends have one so they want one. And it's a landslide from there. Just like the Nike and Jansport example.
Are you going to deny the existence of peer pressure to prove a point?
Are you that much of a fanboy?

And btw, I did mention android and the need for geeks to buy one to claim to be 1337.
But of course, say something about android, it's ok, say the same about apple, and the fanboys come out to defend.

lol @ megadoc

that's not what I'm saying though.

You are claiming that Apple is popular because millions of teens buy it due to social pressure. I am saying that your company cannot become worth $98 Billion and become the top brand in the world just by teen social pressure; that sector of the market does not have that clout by itself.

What real factors have I left out?

Both companies laughing all the way to the bank 8-)

Reading claims that a large portion of that "9 million" fact is just retailers refilling stock and not actual phone sales to consumers. That's the thing about "facts", they can be manipulated to make things appear greater than they really are.

I'm not saying that at all.
I'm saying that the sales figures you keep using as testament is not really one, because of the number of teens etc.
The iPhone line doesn't need that as a testament to it's performance. It can stand on it's own.
And it's not that you left out factors, you claimed that I said they don't matter. A bunch of them. While I was talking about the eco system and stability all the time... In good ways.

This is assuming that the stores are overstocking though.
Most likely this isn't the case.

They were saying they were over stocking the 5c and as Apple did not specify the sales of the individual devices there is no way to really tell what was sold.

Just out of curiosity...if Samsung is so great and makes superior products why do they feel the need to cheat on benchmarks for review to fool customers?

For example:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/10/ ... -up-to-20/

"The difference is remarkable. In Geekbench's multicore test, the Note 3's benchmark mode gives it a 20% boost over its "natural" score. With the benchmark boosting logic stripped away, the Note 3 drops down to LG G2 levels, which is where we initially expected the score to be given the identical SoCs. This big of a boost means it's clearly not just messing with the CPU idle levels; significantly more oomph is unlocked when the device is running a benchmark....

The file we ended up with is called "DVFSHelper.java," and contains a hard-coded list of every package that is effected by the special CPU boosting mode. According to this file, the function is used exclusively for benchmarks, and seems to hit all the popular ones. There's Geekbench, Quadrant, Antutu, Linpack, GFXBench, and even some of Samsung's own benchmarks. The two functions applied to this list seem to be "PACKAGES_FOR_BOOST_ALL_ADJUSTMENT" which is no doubt the CPU booster, and "PACKAGES_FOR_LCD_FRAME_RATE_ADJUSTMENT" which makes it sound like they are also changing the display frame rate....."

A benchmark is just that. It shows what the hardware can do.
Many oc their game boxes to run 3D mark etc to show what the hardware can do.

It's really weird that this was built into the OS, but say what. The note can do so and so, take it or leave it.
Meanwhile, who knows what iOS does with benchmarks, or any app for that matter. Shut tight.

I see no similarity between game boxes and this phone as persons overclock their gameboxes to run their games faster in day to day usage vs a manufacturer artificially boosting just for benchmarks used to win over customers but not allowing that capability to end user applications.

There is zero evidence of benchmark cheating in iOS so far and even other android manufacturers. Seems to just be Samsung at the moment for some reason.

^^ I'm actually being neutral. Why didn't you say that when I was defending apple's sales on the last page?

That capability will be used with eu apps if one oc's, that was my point. That's the android customization they keep boasting about. Not my cup of tea, just my point. Don't want anything overheating in my pocket near my jiblets.
