Jimbo, the 'Vtec killer' cams are straight up race cams that completely bypass the primary lobe and just run a big vtec lobe... they are 100% un-streetable.
The cams cbr has, however, will make power just by bolting them in... but the power band will be spikey since the big lift and duration of the new cams do not match the fuel table the ecu is running. It's likely the primary lobe of the cam is the same as stock, but if it's not, the car will run even more erratically. You MUST get at least aftermarket cam gears and have them degree'd and dialed in on a dyno.
If the primarly lobe measurements are stock, then you will need to do all the tuning on the vtec side.... the cam gear adjustments will determine your power band once set... you will then need to have an experienced tuner make adjustments to your fuel mapping AND ignition mapping to make the most of the new sticks.... but just making the cam and fuel adjustments will make a BIG difference from what you're feeling now.
BTW... I hope you upgraded the springs already, aftermarket cams make power up top for the most part... so you'd best raise your redline if you want to be impressed....
