what wrong with CS3 Lancers

A lot have been put up for sale recently. Anyone has an idea why, is there anything wrong with them? May be interested in purchasing one...but skeptical due to the amount now for sale. Can anyone shed some light?

Nothing...just that they're slow.

nah heard about the CVt trannys and was told they give lots of problems.....somehow i dont think they ugrading...is more like running....of course when you ask why they selling, they claim upgrading....looking for a car for my sister..its her first car and dont want any problems for her

Had one for 3 years and never had any problems.
Transmission is just boring and annoying though.

Never experienced it with a gearbox before...but otherwise nothing's wrong with the car really. Suspension is good...car handles and brakes well also. It's just that that Engine + tranny combo that they decided to go with was trash. Many people opt for the 4G15 DOHC swap from the CK if they're converting. Saw one with a CK swap like that already

The Maximum steering angle isn't that much either as well imo.

Car makes OKAY low end power...but once you're in the higher RPM ranges its just meh from there...car really lacks top end power and is really sluggish.

I had a CS2 Lancer with the GDI engine I sold that at 150,000 KM with out any issues
I have a CS3 Lancer and the only issue I have was an ECU issue and this was because of me playing Cheap at the time and not carrying it to the right people.

Both Vehicles are properly maintained and never had any other Mechanical or Electrical issues

not every tom, dick and Mango Tree mechanic can work on these cars.

Nothing is wrong with a CS3. The people that have had transmission problems are the people that don't maintain their car on time. The transmission is quite sensitive and needs timely attention. it was meant to be fuel efficient and not a powerhouse.
If yuh want rel fyaahz, put ah gearbox. Hard to find but they are out there.

gracen yuh talking rel toots. The CVT is actually better at higher rpm and has a slower than most take off.


In the end OP, if yuh find is too much trouble, just don't buy a CS3 but personally I find it is a great car.

Well apparently the one in the CS is an exception because the car sucks in higher RPM ranges

Transmission type isn't the only thing that affects the amount of torque that a car produces during the RPM ranges

...and yes.... d 4G18 is a 1.6.

Yes I know what the 4G18 is...some came with the 4G15 and 4G13 as well...SOHC also and some came with the 4G93 which is GDI(seen many before)...if you're lucky to get the one from Europe that came with the 4G63 than that's awesome...(Only saw one down here as well as a few ralliarts which came with the 4G64)

The CS isn't the first lancer we owned here(had an A172 with a 4G37 swap and a C62 with a 4G67 swap) and i'm telling you...the CS pretty slow idk how people could say that fast nah...it's a pretty slow car like it or not...you could beat up all you want...not gonna make it "fast"
