BT-50 OIL Change

Postby venomz » July 10th, 2013, 2:19 pm

my 4x4 bt-50 is about to cross 100 000km and the advice the mechanic gave was to change from full synthetic oil to the normal 5000km oil.

his reason being the wear and tear of the engine.

the van does normal everyday highway runs north to south

i currently use the Shell Rimula R6.

what are ur views and opinion.

I am a firm believer of full-synth oils especially for engines like modern turbo diesels. Diesel engines operate under extreme conditions even more so than gasoline engines. I would personally want the best protection

air filter .... OEM is probably the best bet or K&N. As for oil filter I use Royal Purple filters cause they have a glass filter media which is good for long OCIs which you tend to do with full syn oils and they are exceptionally well made.
