info on new ford ranger needed

Postby dogpound » June 21st, 2013, 5:55 pm

ok guys need some info here, i have a new ford ranger and put in some aftermarket led lights replacing majority of the regular bulbs. During the day light with no lights on i was doing 150 for about 5mins on the highway on the drivetrain light came on cutting all power in the vehicle.later that day i started the vehicle and noticed the light came off and everything was as normal. Checking with the company they said it was the rear id light that were causing the problem as it was the wrong type. Could this be true or am i getting the run around, as the same type of bulbs are installed on the inside and as the park lights

Simple.
replace the bulbs with original and see if problem goes away.
These new vehicles are very sensitive.

Ford Trinidad is a waste of fcuking time. They bring in a van that they know nothing about apparently and stocked very little parts

special thanks to Avinash Khanhai at Ford Trinidad. After two modules were changed under warranty, we still wasn't pleased with the fact that an electrical issue may still exist on the vehicle. He did what he had to and got the vehicle changed for a brand new vehicle. Thumbs up!!!!

if anyone ever need a honest sales man you can contact him at 4737832

if replacing the stock bulbs(park and brake)ensure they are equivalent in watts.
I don't fully understand how it works so i can't explain it,but ford uses CANBUS and using different
bulbs gives it the hiccups.
They also use a smart charge, the little white box on the neg bat pole is a current sensor, this adjust the output of alternator to charge only what is consumed.Because of this the bat is only at 60% charge.Ford however can disable it on request,i read you can unplug the sensor and alt will charge like a normal vehicle but with bat light on in dash.Flat bat apparently is a problem with them, happened to me.
Oh and if installing aux electronics be sure to ground to body and not bat pole(direct pole connection will bypass sensor and alt will not increase output for added load)
