Anyone been having rebooting/ freezing issues with their Samsung Galaxy S3 recently? Here's a little story in case anyone has a similar issue:

The past 2 weeks my phone (purchased July 2012 from bmobile) started restarting all by itself. This progressed to freezing and locking up randomly during normal tasks (calls, facebook, YouTube, etc) to the point where it happened 6-12 times a day in the past week. I figured that something went wrong on the software side of things so I did a factory reset, removed the SD card in case that affected anything, but that seemed to make things worse, the phone started to freeze on the Samsung start screen even. Did another reset this time using Kies PC software and did the Firmware Initializing. Same story and didn't help.

Figured that I got hit with the dreaded motherboard issue so decided to take it to bmobile today, only to find out that it would take 3-4 weeks in repair and I would be getting some $400 Samsung feature phone as a loaner... walked out one time and came home to do more research. Ended up downloading the most recent UK official firmware (EMC2 Released March 2013) and everything is back to normal and even better than before as it is the latest 4.1.2 software.

Anyone has any ideas how the firmware could have suddenly just gone bad?

They can't undercut the TouchWiz S4, Samsung isn't stupid, and this is spec'd better than an N4, 1080p Super AMOLED screen, better SoC, SD Card and a back that's not Glass

This I/O seems more focused on Developers and not consumers/devices, and personally, I think k it's too early for a Nexus 5, but I could be wrong, I never thought I would see a Samsung Galaxy Nexus S4

Samsung Ships Record-Breaking 4 Million Galaxy S4 Units In 4 Days

As successor to the hugely successful Galaxy S III, the Galaxy S4 always had big boots to fill — but it appears to be doing that with ease. In just four days last month, Samsung shipped a staggering 4 million Galaxy S4 handsets. It’s now on track to ship 10 million by the end of May.
That’s according to an unnamed Samsung executive who has been speaking to Korea’s ChosunIlbo. “As of the end of April, we supplied four million Galaxy S4 handsets to telecommunication operators around the world,” they said.
That’s quite incredible; these are numbers that other Android vendors can only dream of. While shipments don’t necessarily mean sales, you can be sure these devices aren’t being left to pile up in stock rooms. They’re being shipped this fast for a reason.
The Galaxy S4 is already breaking Samsung’s own sales records. It took 85 days for the original Galaxy S to sell 3 million units, while the popular Galaxy S II took 55 days. The Galaxy S III was Samsung’s fastest-selling smartphone so far after selling 3 million units in 21 days.
The Galaxy S4 has quite clearly smashed that.
“As of Friday, we have sold more than 6 million units, and we predict that we could break the 10-million mark by as early as the end of this month,” the company told ChosunIlbo.

The 8 core model can only use a maximum of 4 cores at a time, so it's basically a quad core phone, four A15 cores for max performance at the cost of battery and four A7 cores for max efficiency and battery savings at the cost of performance.

The true performance of this big.LITTLE design may not be seen in the S4 though, from what I have read, Samsung's implementation of the core switching is messed up

Btw anyone using Google Music All Access? I used a VPN to activate the trial. And it blows Pandora away. I feel happy for my android brethren.

You'll need to get the v5.0 apk from xda as well.

P.S. to all those android fanboys who say apple is all hoops and jumps. I took a whole 10 mins getting it working. From figuring out what VPN to use to getting and installing the apk.
