Postby john_smith8076 » May 6th, 2013, 3:41 pm

Here's the deal I have a lancer ck
If it take of the battery pole and put it
Back on the car idles like it will cut off the
Idle needle will go up and down

I thought it was the battery connectors so changed those
Still the same problem what could this be?
After a while it settles

Could be a distributor or fuse problem.

If you don't take off the battery pole and start the car normally does this still happen?

Ok the car starts normal I checked the alternator by an electrician
It works fine cause when I take off the battery pole positive
The car cuts off it idles up and down under the normal level
Idk if its injectors or throttle body I'm at a loss

i'm confused !
your idle problem only occurs when you remove the battery?
why remove the battery?if the engine works properly with the battery in then i don't see a problem to fix.
If the problem occurs immediately after installing a new battery and continues then i would clean the
IAC,what happens is under normal condition it only works within a certain range .but when reset(remove bat) it travels to limit and sticks from the accumulated gunk.

What I believe is happening it that the removal of the battery or the positive side
Makes the throttle sensor go off and what I used to do before I put on heavy duty clamps
Was play with the battery wires where it connects to the battery and then drive hard jerking the car
Forward and stopping abruptly it would cut off then I would play with the cables again and jerk the
Be it in reverse and stop abruptly until the idle settles now when I checke on tuner and on YouTube it
Seems the problem is the throttle body or the sensor needs fixing or changing because maybe it's not
Sending the correct information to the brain as too how too idle the car or something and maybe taking of the battery makes the settings reset or some idk but I kinda played around with the throttle sensor wire
And the idle has settled but its kinda low but it's not rising and falling as before ill update once I solve the problem but check this video out

http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=rela ... I1sXpu0hQw

Same exact thing is happening too me and if you rev fast and stop
The engine idle drops and it may cut off
But I need to change my plug wires one is bad so gonna try that first

Throttle Position Sensor giving trouble. Try removing the connector from it and see if there's any change in behavior. I'm having the same problem
