mechanics i need to kno wats goin on with my engine

hey tuners im having a problem with my engine....its spitting water from the cabeurator and i drained out the gas tank and fulled up with super gas....i still got the spitting problem again..i took of the cabeurator and water sprayed out the manifold with a pressure...wats goin on???

Come nah man five, box lancer with 1300 engine with carb = no ECU.

Did you check the idle jets, leaky gaskets etc? does that carb have an idle solenoid?

lol @vega....i jus took down d carb...clean out the jets and sprayed it with carb spray and thats it

If your intake manifold looks like this, that port on the left is for coolant to flow through the intake manifold. If there's a crack in the manifold or a breach in the gasket, it'll allow coolant to get in and shoot out the carb port. Check that first.

i hav a question, dat diaphragm showin in the picture, what is its purpose?? i have an L20ET engine and it ave one looking like that, there is also a line from the exhaust to the underside of it.

I've no clue. Exhaust gas recirculation maybe? Many Lancers and older Corollas have that carb and I never found out what that was for.
Years ago when I changed the engine in my old 'rolla hatch, the mechanic said those carbs were troublesome , so I kept my old one.
Maybe one of our resident mechanics can enlighten us *shrugs*

hmm, buh this engine is fuel injected, turbocharged, it has 2 vaccum lines to it, the exhaust line is jus to the underside of the diaphragm, it doesn't hav a blow off valve, but i see a thing screwd onto the manifold side which i was told was a 'buffer' . :?:
