very good lens, push pull, screw drive

Keep in mind the Tamron is 500 USD cheaper and has vibration control but review say its not the same optical quality as nikon.

also when is Nikon going to jump on the boat and produce a constant aparature mid zoom lens with VR?

Nikon mount? if so i dont mind renting it from you for a week.

Is this thread about posting photos and patting everyone on the back or can we offer some criticism and or suggestions?

Recommendations have been given before. I know there used to be a lot of criticism for landscape shots where the horizon wasn't level etc.

because with that much experience the critique would be constructive and always good for amateurs too get pointers from pros especially those who talented enough that they rely in it for their bread and butter.

So without that experience the critique won't be constructive or good for amateurs? (Problem with youth nowadays)

Critique can be useful from anyone as long as they know what they're talking about, you don't need five years experience to give pointers out. It may just be that you have grasped a certain concept already but doesn't mean you know it all. One individual might have went to the classes at UWI or second shoot with a professional or may just research or even watched a tutorial. May be they made mistakes and a pro corrected them.

I know professional photographers who would disagree with that kind of thinking you have there?

How many years experience do you have?

I say we should all be able to help each other grow, some people may understand some key concepts while others don't. You don't need 5 years experience to help someone better their craft, it would be better if they did as it would mean a wealth of more information (not necessarily good).

P.S. they are photographers with 10 years experience making money and shooting crap.

That's that ish I don't like.

Anyhow, my a390 is gone.

Missing the feel of a DSLR, but mostly the optics, what you guys think of the Nikon J1 and V1?

Anyone here used them personally?

what a load of a$$. Im seeing many photos uploaded in this thread and alot of them have basic mistakes in them and most are not particularly good, but all the responses are saying, "cool pic", "great shot", "EPIC", but no one is saying this shot could have been better by doing so and so...

IMO the most improved phototakerouter on this thread is Dharin Sawh (excuse the spelling) he is producing some pretty good macros, Vramps was getting better but like he give up
(Nikon v1 and j1 is toots btw, go for something like the sony or fujifilm mirroless systems if budget allows, do some research).

The point is nemesis, there are many many good and even great amateur photogs that can give good advice but they keep photography as a hobby. Shooting professionally is EXTREMELY difficult and not everyone is cut out for that life, but they can shoot. And as lucian 2nr said, there are guys who shoot professionally and they are rel balls, but they can market themselves so they come out good.
Not because you like a photo means it is good.

Stick with the well known brands like lexar, san disk, and too some extent transcend. If you using sd cards, look for the class 10 cards
