Catalytic converteron gdi galant .

Postby diamonds are forever » February 13th, 2013, 10:16 pm

Hey guys, was just wondering if it is advisable to remove the catalytic converters on the 4g94 gdi engine. What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this?

Pros -better fuel efficency & a better flow of exhaust(lil more power)
Cons- mite throw a cel, foul smell/exhaust from tail end (doesnt matter caz with macheal foggin up the place and all them old 280c nobody kar say nothing)
If/when you remove it run a straight pipe and include a place to put back your rear os sensor/catalyst tempertaure sensor(which evaone onto the cat)
Gdi a lil different and may throw a code on 1st sign on incorrect readings
This topic has been cover by myself and raybic on the forum,as far as i know.

check for my post "02 sensor" you should find a solution for your problem there.
If you wanna go back to original sensor its called a egt sensor. Check/pm raybic on this forum for infor he had same issue to mine and ordered his sensor online.
Both problems were solved using differnt methods.
