I think they should recast Mark Hammil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in episode 7 at least for continuity

I wonder who the new antagonist will be?

They'll have to come damn good to beat Darth Vader.

They could use the Yuuzhan Vong. In the book "The New Jedi Order", they were a marauding race of beings which the jedi could not "sense" and/or manipulate like other beings. Personally I found the plot to be too generic. If they decide to go that route, a lot would depend on how they adapt the story.

I found that Lost was crap. But once given a story with a clear path to closure, Abrams can deliver.

Star Wars: Episode VII - New Report Says Harrison Ford Will Indeed Return as Han Solo

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/15/star-wars-episode-vii-new-report-says-harrison-ford-will-indeed-return-as-han-solo

FEBRUARY 15, 2013

According to a new report, one of the most beloved Star Wars characters is indeed going to be back, portrayed by the actor who originated the role, as Latino Review is reporting that Harrison Ford is set to return as Han Solo for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Latino Review broke the news via an appearance by the site's El Mayimbe on Fox News Latino, where he said, “It’s official. Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars movies.” While not infallible, Latino Review has broken many big film stories that were indeed confirmed down the line and El Mayimbe stated, “I found that out yesterday. I did my due diligence, like I do with everything. Triple checked. Legitimate sources."

It was reported back in November that Ford had indicated he’d be up for reprising the role, as rumors swirled that Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa would all be a part of Episode VII, in some capacity.

For now, Lucasfilm has not officially announced anything regarding the subject of Star Wars casting, but El Mayimbe went on to say, “His deal is done. It’s just a formality. They haven’t really announced it yet.” He noted he didn’t know the exact extent of Ford’s role in the new films, but that, “It’s significant.”

Star Wars: Episode VII would actually be a reunion for Ford and director J.J. Abrams. One of Abrams' first produced screenplays was Regarding Henry, which starred Ford. Future Hollywood uber-writer/producer/director Abrams actually has a cameo in the film as a delivery guy who interacts with Ford's character.

It wont be that hardcore unfortunately cause it has to be rated PG 13 but we'll see when they finally give an idea or parts of the story are leaked.

Star Wars fans feel the force at lightsaber class

A group of San Francisco Star Wars fans who want to travel to a galaxy not that far away have created a combat choreography class for Jedis-in-training with their weapon of choice: the lightsaber.

Carrie Fisher to Return as Princess Leia in Next 'Star Wars' Movie

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, will reprise her role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, she confirmed to Palm Beach Illustrated.

Asked point blank whether she'll be in the next Star Wars film, Fisher answered with a simple "Yes".

She goes on to explain how she sees the Princess Leia of today. "Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle," Fisher said.

Star Wars: Episode VII, which is coming out in 2015, will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who also directed the latest Star Trek movies. Harrison Ford is also rumored to appear in the new film, reprising his role as Han Solo.

^ It's all rumours until the Disney/Lucasfilm studio confirms it. Earlier they "confirmed" that Harrison Ford would return, but it's still more of a rumour and was never actually confirmed. But that's how George Lucas used to do things, lots of ghost rumours and actors and even fake scripts to build public anticipation.

Seems to be confirmed now. For now...

Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill to reprise roles for new ‘Star Wars’ films.

George Lucas says actors were signed for Episode VII before Disney bought Lucasfilm.

In an interview posted online Thursday, George Lucas said the trio from the original Star Wars trilogy will reprise their iconic roles of Hans Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in the new Star Wars film.

“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison — or were pretty much in the final stages of negotiation,” Lucas said.

Disney’s Lucasfilm was coy in response. In a statement, a spokesperson for the company said, “George couldn’t say whether they were signed or not and neither can we. As Yoda said, ‘Always in motion is the future.’ Stay tuned.”

Disney shuts down LucasArts

Gamers who felt a great disturbance in the Force Wednesday -- as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced -- weren't imagining things.

Disney has shuttered LucasArts, the long-running game development wing of Lucasfilm, effectively ending all internal development at the company and laying off the majority of the staff.

Moving forward, the company that brought forth such gaming classics as Grim Fandango, Sam & Max and The Secret of Monkey Island will only be a shell whose name is used to license games...
