Postby vinke » January 15th, 2013, 3:14 am

When 4wd is engaged I hear a clak clak clak noise especially when turning. Any idea what could be causing this.

where the noise coming from exactly?

Could be one of the diff's either slipping or the gear teeth grinding

could be the front axle worn or broken. had that problem twice with my b2500. had to replace both axles

I had the same thing on my B2500 4x4. It was the axle boot was ripped and destroyed the axles.

yup but the shitty part is that its always the inner joint which pretty much means buying a complete axle cuz finding an inner joint to buy is near impossible unless im looking in the wrong places.

i haven't had problems locating the axles; i would quicker say i had problems with the prices called for them once found

if you replace the axle and same problem this could be the 4WD chain in the transfer case. I have complete axles and i also have the chain. 3614048

Not the suspension, it's the drivetrain that's weak as fcuk..! Same scene with my Ranger, I'm on my third front diff and changed about 4 axles. If you go off-roading and are running anything bigger than 31" tires be prepared for you will inevitably break sh!t... Been there, done that.. and more...
