Any of you guys experienced you BB overheating and draining battery?

I have it happening now. Read that it's probably due to poor network signal and phone constantly trying to boost it/search. Changed my network settings to 2G alone(had it on 2G & 3G before). Seems to be holding out better now.

Which setting you guys use?
2G alone? 3G alone? 2G & 3G?

9700. On a hybrid OS. I changed over to 3G mode alone now. Everything seems ok thus far.

Aaron what OS is this? Try a hybrid?

But I've seen it happen with my Whatsapp groups, if the group is REALLY active...expect a decrease in batt. life.

Gonna try to update my OS in a bit.

BBM ver 7 to be released in the beta zone today, would feature some new emoticons, but the main feature would be wifi calling to bbm contacts

WIFI calling works..

BBM Voice includes a number of convenient features.

You can initiate a BBM Voice call directly, or instantly switch from a BBM text chat to talk, and back again.
The split-screen feature allows customers to talk and text at the same time, so for example, they can send a picture to their contact while talking with them. They can also check other BBM text chats, check email, or navigate to other apps while engaged on a BBM Voice call.
BBM provides a visual indicator that shows when contacts are available for a voice call.
BBM Voice is compatible with any accessories a customer has now for making voice calls on their BlackBerry smartphone, such as a Bluetooth® or wired headset. Customers can also use BBM Voice over their BlackBerry smartphone's speakerphone.
If it's not an ideal time to talk, customers can simply choose to respond by texting back.
Another important feature of BBM version 7 is its integration with a customer's BlackBerry ID, which is designed to back up their BBM profile, groups and contacts so they can automatically be restored in the event they switch to a new BlackBerry smartphone, including to a BlackBerry® 10 device.

BBM version 7 with the new BBM Voice feature is currently available in Beta for BlackBerry smartphones running the BlackBerry® 6 OS or higher with support planned for smartphones running the BlackBerry 5 OS at a future date. The Beta can be downloaded for free from BlackBerry Beta Zone. You can sign up to BlackBerry Beta Zone for free at www.BlackBerry.com/betazone

Bbm voice feature already exists in other apps. Viber, Skype, etc.

Not bbm voice literally. I meant the features.

thought so, but this is a direct voice call over bbm, which is a new add on for RIM users

works good so far, call clarity is pretty good, better than skype

its a BBM upgrade, if you could've done the last upgrade then you will get it via app world

that's what is being reported by now, but i guess at month end it will be officially known if it can indeed be for all devices

still being run though beta testers
