Lenses were defective then.
And there are hot/cold faucets eh  nobody "gets warm water"

Is just to open the hot half and the cold half.

Just an update.

I finally found a frame. Image

It's a titanium Nike. Paid $1600 for the frame and outfitted it with Transitions and Essilor AR. Can't wait to collect it 8-)

Another thing to note, OT is ridiculously overpriced. I paid $100 for my eye test and afterwards, they told me I had to pay another $100 to get the prescription. Ferreira Optical (where I got my lenses) told me they charge $110 for the test AND prescription.

Their frames are also overpriced. I saw a great Oakley semi-rimless for $3200 in OT and then saw the very same for $2200 in Ferreira Optical.

Anyways, just thought I'd share my experiences to help others from making my mistakes.

The point I was trying to make is that Ferreira's lens quality may be higher than value optical's :|

hmm... wrt to contact lenses i have been with OT over 10 years and i am very happy with their service, testing, prices, deals, sales, etc. if they dont have my prescription in stock they give me a free pair to wear until they get etc etc. the 'imported' opticians are really nice, patient, and try thier best to explain, advise and help.

however i have not bought a pair of glasses in over 15 years! and i really really need to invest in one. I have lost touch with frames, lenses etc and am not sure where to start. i am thankful about the reviews in this thread because i would have 'blindly' gone to OT to get a pair of glasses but now i will reconsider and check other places/options. thanks a bunch guys!

8-)

i missing a pair of my contacts and it was my last pair so i gotta order again.

I usually wear Acuvue, but i thinking on trying Acuvue Oasys , i'm getting it for $26 USD a box from VisionDirect.com. ( a box is 6 lenses)

I usually order all my lenses from there, but any other site i can get it cheaper.

Any help with that guys?

Also, just for fun, i'm buying a pair of these.

They're going for $30USD for a pair at vision direct.
its not a bad price.

And i gotta get a new pair of frames.

You people sure do pay a pretty penny for just a frame....oh well
When Optometrists Today has a sale it's a good sale and I like their service.
I don't do contacts, as I don't like poking my eyes out and my eyes are irritated easily.
Nice thread

I'm considering Lasik in Miami.

My friend she's 26 and astigmatic and her mother 50 something, both got Lasik done.

And they're pretty fine now, they say its the best thing they have ever done.

My insurance wont cover it, because its classed as cosmetic surgery, so i gotta risk it.

I'm still thinking about it.

Same here. I heard about it and I would like to do it. I hear it have doctors locally with the equipment and can do it in office to but I not sure if I'd trust locals with this honestly. What are your views guys?

LOL. I'm sorry but I just don't trust letting local doctors do it. No offense to the few doctors on the forum. (My problem is an astigmatism in both eyes)

it is under a year old, but they wont give it to me to get them elsewhere
and i went to other places but they require me to do over the test by them before selling the lens
because i really dont want to do the test over and then still have to wait >2weeks cus they dont have it in stock

now i could order it online cus i know my prescription, but id have to wait like 3weeks.

i was hoping it have a place that have it in stock and i would be able to get tru today

That sucks ass, they never have prescriptions in stock, I always make sure and order long in advance because my first set took months to reach, I hope you get through with something though

hard luck dey OP.
Nobody will sell you contacts without prescription.

but its $100 to get a new prescription and you still gotta wait 2 weeks to get your lenses.

Ordering online cheaper and easier.

Whats your prescription?

i ordered 6 boxes (each box have 3 pairs of lenses) of Accuvue 2 for $100 USD through Vision Drect.com and they sent it through UPS and i got it in 3 days.
