Went granville for the weekend and fished sunday morning. Just 1 salmon and some melwish. Actually bigger fish, my guess was salmon started to bite but all my herring ran out and had to stop fishing. Got some nice bites too but wished I had bait for the rising tide.
Hold a pic of the small catch...

Lol I've been looking to get into some fishing since I got back. I have no idea where is a good spot to fish from land down here though. Glad to find this thread, keep it up with the inspiring stories, locations and pictures, really helped me out.

Right in front of the boardwalk around the middle, just out in the middle where the turtlegrass beds are , 4-5 ft max depth maybe, didn't wanna kill myself since i haven't practiced purging the snorkel properly and i'm new to it. Vis was maybe 5-6 feet at best and this is early morning 7-10 when no ones really there and the water is cool and clear. Interesting stuff to be seen..got me hooked lol. And nice catch proton as usual..maybe one day the fish will smile on me lol.

I tried so many times to get one but always unlucky, the smallest you usually catch is a 5-8lb tarpon and that's around 20 inches + or so..(good for a decent talapia pond though) Saw they had some in the zoo (5-7inches)but i'm not sure if is the regular megalops atlanticus or the more tank friendly indonesian variety.

Monarch sells it locally. Amazon if you can't source it elsewhere.

Yes, spiderwire loses its color easily, frays and begins to strand out after a little weather exposure, sufix performance braid is what I use religiously, loses its color after a long time but retains its integrity like a champ.
