Disease/Pest Control San Fernando..need assistance

Postby White CZ4A » October 9th, 2012, 9:47 am

Tuners..

have a problem for nearly a year now.
Two houses down from me there is an abandoned house with a swimming pool. The pool has filled up with rain water and it is a mosquito breeding ground.
But for the last few months it has gotten worse. There are tons of frogs and now snakes living in that yard.
It's in the vistabella area. Which division would be responsible for this area as it relates to disease control?

Ashraff Ali is the PHI for that area, you can call and ask for him i guess

I know there is a government agency that sees about pests, my father called them twice, one time bees infest we house and the second time was bats.

I dont know the name or number.
I will try and get it for you.

And secondly, go ninja style and empty some kerosene in the pool.

Report it to the Ministry of Health Office on Pointe a Pierre Road. You would have to give them name and address. They don't take ananymous reports.

You can try talking to your neighbours and colectively make a report.

all these suggestions about report...how is that going to help is the place is abandoned and owners not around though?

take who to court?

keroscene in pool is good idea.

full some chubby bottles, put lose covers or bore holes in them, and launch into the pool from outside.

PHD will locate the owner and issue notices, if undeclared, will do the necessary work to clean property of debris and add that cost to land taxes

If not maintained, the city council can seize the land and sell it. The current owners will usually panic and sort things out.

public health is a waste of time
I live next door to a crack house with same type of conditions,
swamp drain in the back, latrine, mosquito etc(woodbrook)

I have personally gone in to city hall and written letters also.
they will send some pleb to come look and they will write them a notice and that's it
at the end of the day the city corp doesn't really have the teeth to force anybody to do anything.
So I went and got my own insecticide granules and have to throw some in the drain every week or so.

if it is a pool which always has water then the best option might be to throw some guppies or river fish to take care of the mosquito.
