Air Conditioner problems

Postby Hibrydsoul » September 21st, 2012, 3:00 pm

I'm experiencing a problem, when the car is running and the a/c is on.... at some point the a/c system trips on and off with the indicator light/on switch flickering as well. I went to an electrician and he checked it out but he could not figure out exactly what the problem was, his best guess, the pressure switch was the cause. He said it was either too much gas or the pressure switch went bad. I went by the a/c man, he checked the a/c gas pressure and it was good..... He further told me that it is not the pressure switch as the pressure switch only deals with the fan blowing adequately to the amt of a/c gas pressure in the cycle. He adjusted the thermostat and I thought it was fixed.... I drove for two days without any mishap, until this morning when I decided to put my glove compartment back up and drove out off that the same tripping off of the a/c resumed. Have anyone experienced this problem or know what may be the cause? any positive input would be greatly appreciated.

It turns out that the pressure switch is faulty..... so I had it bridged to allow a universal thermostat to regulate the compressor. It's not the ideal solution but its the cheapest and also I got to discovering that the a/c system was wired bypassing the amplifier module. Any suggestions/advice appreciated.

all problems fixed... something simple as having too much gas in the system can and will caused a malfunction..... Simply releasing some and everything is back to normal.... I added an extra fan though.... These days the sun not nice at all.
