3rd Annual Total Trailblazers SUV & 4x4 Run 23rd September

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » September 7th, 2012, 11:35 am

It's here again.

The 3rd annual Total Trailblazers All Terrain SUV & 4x4 Run will be held on Sunday 23rd September (the day before the holiday) from 7:00 AM starting and ending at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary.

Competitors will be sent from the Caroni Bird Sanctuary on a navigational off-road run throughout central Trinidad where they will be required to collect some "Treasures" along the way. Anyone who has competed in this event before can attest that these "Treasures" tend to be very whimsical and lend an interesting twist to the event. The navigational section takes competitors to Indian Trail where they will compete in the first of the Special Stages for the day.

The "Total King of the Hill" at Indian Trail sends competitors along a small dexterity course and then they must attempt to conquer "The Hill". This stage is separated into two categories (Novice and Expert), with the expert vehicles having to conquer a 150’ mud soaked hill with some points reaching as steep as 50 degrees. This special stage offers a great vantage point for spectators to view the competitors in action as they push their vehicles to the limit trying to complete the course the fastest. Action starts here from approximately 11:30 AM.

Once the “Total King of the Hill” is completed, competitors and spectators will make their way back to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary for the next 2 Special Stages, for the first time ever in Trinidad the "Total Mud Sprint” and the "Total Mud Hog". This year promises to be extra exciting with the introduction of the “Total Mud Sprint”. Competitors will line up side by side for a 200ft “Mud Sprint”. At the end of the sprint competitors will be sent through a dexterity course en-route to the “Total Mud Hog” stage.

The "Total Mud Hog" takes competitors through a "Mud Pit" and "Mud Wind". This stage is separated into two categories (Novice and Expert). The novice vehicles will be sent through a mud pit approximately 60’ Long by 15” Deep and then through a “Mud Wind” to the finish line. The Expert vehicles will be sent through a mud pit approximately 60’ Long by 24” Deep and then through a “Mud Wind” to the finish line.

Once all competitors have completed the special stages, we make our way to the Caroni Bird Sanctuary Car Park for the Run Points Tabulation and prize giving. For the first time this year, we are hosting a “Competitors Curry Cookout” This event will take place during the Run Points Tabulation and will be judged separately. The competition is open to competitors only and any meat can be used.

So come out, bring the family and enjoy an action packed day of All Terrain Fun.

To add to all the great excitement we always have, this year we have added a few new challenging components to the competition. These will be added to the famous Total King of the Hill and the Total Mud Hog
Image

1 - The introduction of the “Total Mud Sprint” will see competitors, 2 at a time line up side by side for a 200 Foot Sprint through the mud.
The Competitor with the fastest time will win $1500, a Trophy and a year’s supply of Total Engine Oil
Second Place will receive $1000 and 6 months supply of Total Engine Oil
Third Place will receive $500 and 6 months supply of Total Engine Oil

2 – A new prize has been added to the already impressive line up. This year there will be a prize for the highest placing female competitor naming her, the Total “One Tough Mudda”.

The winner will receive a $500.00 voucher courtesy Zanzibar Restaurant.
3 - At the end of the competition while points are being tabulated, we will be hosting for the first time the “Chief Competitor Curry Cookout”.

This is a Competitor only competition meaning that anyone registering to enter must enter under a competitors team/name. Competitors who wish to compete in the “Chief Competitor Curry Cookout” are required to curry any meat which will be judged on taste. Tent space will be provided for registered entrants to cook in. The winner of the “Chief Competitor Curry Cookout” will win $1,000.00 and a trophy courtesy of Chief Brand Products.
This year will be lots of fun with lots of action so get ready!
