anyone notice if there are any fancy-schmancy bright colours on the satellite pics right now?

because there aren't

but we're getting thundershowers

and you wonder why so many people place so much faith in the sat pics when they THINK bad weather coming :|

I usually would visit the Doppler radar website to track local weather.

It's on the MET site....

But it's out of service anyway....we got the radar set for free so we can't afford to keep it going it.

THE Caribbean region can now be provided with better early warning of hurricanes and also the monitoring of these usually destructive super storms, Caricom Secretary General Dr Edwin Carrington stated at the unveiling of the Doppler Radar at Telemaque Road, Brasso Venado in Tabaquite.

He said the European Union provided financing to the tune of 13.2 million Euros for four Doppler Weather Radar Facilities, in Guyana, Belize, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.

The four Doppler radars, he said, would be able to provide early warnings of hurricanes, tropical storms and other local severe weather systems.

Delivering the feature address, Minister of Public Utilities Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, said the advanced technology will significantly enhance the nation’s meteorological capabilities and the capacity to deliver precise early warnings, with particular regard to conditions that may lead to flooding. Director of Meteorological Services Emmanuel Moolchan said testing of the Doppler radar was done one year ago 2009 and the radar itself has been working steadily for the past five to six months.” Moolchan added that the Doppler Radar has a radial range of over 400 km (248.6) miles in any direction.

While some may question the location of the radar facility, the Government chose Brasso Venado because of its altitude of over 230 metres “easy access road from the Meteorological office at Piarco and almost perfect line-of-site radio transmission to Piarco” said Abdul-Hamid. The site would provide complete radar coverage over TT

Cause it's a PNM thing and PP want it to disappear an magically appear just in time to be used as a elections gimmick to fool the masses into thinking it new?

In Mc Bean area heat this morning very dark clouds formed this afternoon and eventually showers.
Similiar pattern as yesterday.
Washed dirt off vehicles just before rain and now allowing rinse by rain.

We've just been informed that the La Seiva River has burst its banks in the vicinity of Sherwin Williams, formerly the Kappa Drugs building.
