I almost like to think it's something simple like the yen strength that causes these odd looking impreza prices but then I check various Subaru websites in Different countries and the prices always are more reasonable even with larger displacement engines.

Yeah but trini ppl still gonna buy slowbarus. Worse yet, with those outrageous prices, they gonna be seen as a luxury brand now

The Sti isn't that bad considering that the EvoX was half a mil when diamond motors used to bring em. An alternative to those people wanting a brand new, warranty supported AWD sports car perhaps?

No prices on the WRX though? It was 320something when I check last year or so..

That's how they seem to price cars in Trinidad. If the Audi A4 is $400,000, then the Benz C-class and the BMW 3-series will follow.

So I guess Subaru is no different.

When I asked no information was offered about the WRX, other than the ones I posted.

Sadly, my family will probably have to say good bye to our long line of Subarus, as we don't believe in non-turboed Subarus and will not be paying for them at those prices. Lol

I really should take a test drive in the CX7, as it has the 2.3T right?

I need a car with power, so unless this stupid MVT disappears I won't be getting a bigger V6 so turboed 4s it will continue lol.

Got the Volkswagen Tiguan Sport & Style a couple of years ago. I quite like the euros now lol. Looking at the Audi Q5 2.0T now but probably will be waiting for the 2013 model.

But, there is still time :)

Warning. Unbiased post coming through.

You wanna get the CX7/CX9? Don't. SSS only has a couple in stock of each vehicle and when they're sold, there would be very little chance of them importing any more because of the little demand it has in Trinidad from what I've heard from the inside. I dont even think they sell the cx9 anymore, but unless you have links to import your own parts then I wouldn't advice on the purchase. You would think that because they have sold the vehicles that they would stock air filters for the vehicles for servicing but its highly unlikely.

Your only other option that's above 1.6 = the Mazda 6 or the CX-5 and if speed is something you're after then I wouldn't advise on those either.

Nope. It's a NA 2.0
New WRX in TT is 2.5T I believe.

And all turbocharged Subarus that are purchased from the dealer are currently 2.5Ts

DSM_05 wrote:My Uncle took a spin into lifestyle motors last week (or so it was narrated to me).....after hearing about special offers on the 1.4 swift and 1.8 cruze, or whatnot.

He claims that an LM rep told him they have limited stock (less than 4 or 5?) of the cruze (all were spoken for or paid down on), and no swifts available. Also, the rep said they have not received any new vehicle shipments since May/June, and may not receive until October (maybe) - and that they can't confirm quantities/colors, or even what cars will come?

So what is LM offering their specials "on" exactly? Cars that don't exist?

Not sure if there's any truth to this Norstar2K? As I said, this is what I was told...so I could be mistaken.

Habit7 wrote:Lifestyle Motors still trying to find money to finish the Porsche showroom

zoom rader wrote:Dude this is a sales rep con.
They all tell the same story to get you to buy becuase they create a false "shortage" , that may cause you to panic buy if you dont know their game.

DSM_05 wrote:I know that type of scheme. But in that instance, they try to get you to rush and buy "before they sell out".

This is different. He claims they essentially told him most/all were sold or paid down for. None available (that he wanted at least). So - I don't think they were encouraging a panic buy.

He also claims that they can't confirm when future shipments of cars will come in, and they don't even know what models/colours either ???

I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't some truth behind this - I know LM has a "lot" in Aranguez opposite the highway where they store new arrivals etc....I'm accustomed to seeing cars parked up there with the plastic wrap on them and so on everytime they come in.

But I haven't seen any new cars enter that area in months. To me, the last I saw may have been earlier this year.

I'm just speculating at this point.

That is NONSENSE!!!

LM has the Cruze 1.8L and Swift 1.4L GLX models that the special is on. All colours available.

The Cruze 1.6L is what is in very short supply as they are ALL SOLD OUT. This is NOT advertised anyway.

Why would LM advertise what they do not have? That would be wasting money.

What they do not have are Swift Sports, Cruze 1.6L and the New Captiva. Those are all in short supply due to the very pleasant sales demand they have experienced.

Either your uncle wasn't sure what (model) he asked for – perhaps Swift Sport or Cruze 1.6L. or the Rep is a clearly misinformed.

LM has not had a Swift Sport shipment (as it takes 5 months and the demand caught us off guard) but they are on their way.

Cruze 1.6L units arrive monthly but most are pre-sold. New Captiva also just about all pre-sold coming down the line (again being caught out by the demand).

What they advertised are all available ex stock.

DSM_05, I really want the name of the Rep. Badly!

^^Hi. I don't have a name for the rep....I've never even gone with him to see the situation for myself.

I'm can't say which swift he was looking at, but I'm definitely positive he was looking at the Cruze. Said so specifically. He's kinda hell-bent on a Cruze actually - can't say I disagree too. It's a nice car, that...and I told him it'd be a good option for him and his wife to drive.

I didn't realise the 1.6L Cruze had made it down here. I'll follow up with him to see what the scene is.

Hardly. That's the 2.0 N/A impreza.

WRX's sold by N&M are 2.0L turbo(up until 2005/6) and 2.5L turbo from 2006 onwards to the new bodystyle.

WRX is around 400K IIRC. N&M sold at least one recently (WRX, not WRX STi) recently - a white hatch with the 2010/11 facelift (wider fenders, quad exhaust, and new front bumper)..,..PCT plates IIRC.

Yes Sir, the 1.6L model has been here for the last 3-4 months - As I indicated, all units are sold out due to high demand, with current orders pre-sold already.

DSM_05, please PM me if you have any further details. I'd like your uncle to get the RIGHT INFO so as to help him to make the RIGHT CHOICE. Thanks.

why buy a Subaru Impreza 2.0 (non turbo) for $362k when you could buy the Volvo S60 1.6T for around $365k? Heck spend 18k extra and buy the new Mercedes Benz C180 for $380k.

The Sonata 2.4 is $365k so that is an ok deal in this overall stealership market prices. The Impreza XV is $315k yet the loaded Tucson is $310k

The ULTIMATE best deal in the market right now is the:

2012 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Duractec

is has 7 airbags, steering wheel controls, fully powered and it has ABS etc for $150k and you get a 5-year warranty and free service. Or you can spend $165k and get all that plus 5-years free insurance.

Ford check mate.

oh and why buy a WRX STi for $575k when you can get the Audi A6 2.0T for slightly less or a Mercedes Benz E250 for same? Sure the STi will hit 60mph in 4.6s but the Benz will do it in 3-4s later. I rather have a bigger, safer and more luxurious car with a lot more prestige than some awd japanese econobox.

Why have you even bothered to reply to that? His comparison of an A6 2.0T (the new ones are absolutely lethargic with the underpowered engine in the large girth of the A6) to the WRX STI only shows his bias on the issue, and how it affects his otherwise, decent judgement. Someone who's looking at an A6 would not be cross-shopping with an STi - they're two different brackets of car - one with stiff suspension and a focused driving experience; the other, a luxury car with tech, lots of room, exec personality, and a modicum of performance.

In short - ignore the troll, and move on.

No problem. I'll leave it up to him to contact you (he has an account on 'tuner). Spoke to him today, and referred him to this post and your info.

Short version - he said he spoke to LM again on Saturday, and they said they just got a shipment of Cruzes. NOt sure which or what specs (he is a man of few words), but it sounds like he'll be on his way to getting one.

Thanks for the advice there Norstar2K - much appreciated 8-)

DSM_05 I was simply pointing out the fact that for that kind of money you can get a luxury sedan and I sure would like to know what you drive because to describe the performance of an A6 2.0T as modicum perhaps you enjoy the thrill of your 300whp car and the true troll is non but yourself.

You troll for performance but you live and drive in TT. For a mature family person like myself, I am within my right to say better to buy the A6 or E250 for STi money since the kid in us eventually grows up. You will grow up soon.

All you're saying there is that you're now shopping in a different market and because of that you think everyone else should. People are allowed to have their own preferences. Doesn't need to align with yours.

Exactly. It's a preference really. No right or wrong with them. I personally would buy the A6 also, but that doesn't mean that I should think less of the person who chooses the STI as I watch it pass.

And yes 16 they do come with sensors as standard.
