Can anyone recommend an optical place to get AR coating? I hear the cheap coating flakes off. Where has the best Anti reflective coating?

Not seeing any sunglasses so far, so here goes.
I don't wear prescription lens, but a couple years ago I noticed that I was getting some serious headaches from sunlight glare, especially to and from work.

got these at Ferreira Optical:
http://www.pleasureground.com/uptown_prod.htm
A little overpriced than the online price, but they made frame adjustments to fit my face.

I simply can't drive without em now. Great features.

Got mine at Value Optical, had my previous one for more than two years and had no flaking. But i need prescription sunglasses for outdoors because i still get headaches and eye aches while driving especially if the sun is blazing hot.

1400TT.
Over double online price, but I appreciated the fit and frame mods to fit my big fat orglee head.

Customer service in Ferreira Optical is top notch. One of the nose pieces fell out when I was playing tennis and the sunglasses fell and they replaced it for free. That was almost a year after buying it.

all of the spectacles i ever wore came from value optical and all had transitions...none turned yellow...u sure u treated them properly with the recommended cleaning fluid? u cant just wash them under warm water (not saying u did).

service is really good IMO....then again, i never tried any other so i cant say its the best.

and they even nice when they are doing the free repairs and tightening.

not to mention i wud smash every female in the store. lol

The only thing Ferreira tell me is not to dry wipe mine because of the AR coating. I wash my glasses daily with warm water and squeezy. That cleaning fluid he talking about is alcohol and a mild detergent.

If value optical tell him that, is a good thing I never went there.

 did your manager friend at Bmobile tell u dat wen u didnt get ur phone he 'saved' for u?

anyway....the norm people do is clean their glasses under warm water at the end of the day...depending on what coating and material of the lenses they use, they wud advise on how to clean it.

warm water is ok if its a plain old polycarbonate lenses with AR coating. the optometrist told me avoid washing my lenses under warm water often. i got a free spray (i think everyone gets it wen they buy glasses) for everyday cleaning. cleaning nose pads etc under water shud be done once a week (as i was told)....i followed instructions and everything worked good so far....no yellow coating etc.

ooh...and chaguanas branch has the hotties ;)

edit: there are also different strengths in that spray. u cant just go in a store and grab one at random....and no, its not just alcohol and detergent.

Alcohol  I thought you're supposed to not use alcohol and ammonia based products :|
I doubt they'd supply that.
I still have the same bottle of spray I bought from OT about 3 years ago. About 3/4 filled.
I keep forgetting to go drop in my pair for reglazing or whatever (the plastic they put at the joints) as one of my lenses were never properly set in the right orientation.

 dred u serious?

nobody said or believed that...i apologized if i made it sound that way?

edit: i forgot to mention that the yellow tint is a result of ware which happens to all transition lenses after a long period of time....depending on how u maintain ur glasses will either extend or shorten that period.

by d way....a little off the glasses and a little more about contacts.....

do any of u have the self lubricating contact lenses? (or wat d hell u does call it)

they say its the one u can leave on 24 / 7 :|

Normal use and I used cleaning solution to clean mine, who the hell has time to get warm water to clean glasses. The yellowing occurred after they were changed though, I would case them up and open them after a few months and see like the lens were tinted
