Nissan Versa vs Toyota Yaris

Postby lenzomaru » July 27th, 2012, 11:15 am

I am going to buy i new car and i am considering the Versa or the Yaris.
I went into both dealerships yesterday to check out both cars. My opinion:

Yaris : $155,000
Pros:
Resale value in T&T high
It does sip gas
It has a nice sound system
The car has a nice exterior
Cons:
Interior fugly (centre spedometer is just awful!!!)
Lil more expensive than the versa

Versa : $149,000
Pros:
Nissan high reputation in T&T resale should not be that bad
Parts cheaper
Nice interior and exterior
audio controls on the steering
Cons:
The rear passenger has wind up windows! wtf?!?
Lower resale
Audio system not as nice

What ya'll think?

windup rear windows is a big no no..local nissan sad yes. We in 2012 right....
Imo the versa looks fugly. The versa HB looks better but I talked to nissan and they most likely not getting that model.
There is a new model yaris on the way, but who knows when it will hit trinidad...probably 2013/14.
I would go with the yaris....(should be easier to get parts, since it out longer)

The USA uses all 4 wind up windows that sells the cheapest ($10,000 USD) and the powered mirror fully loaded sells at ($15,000 USD)
It's Nissan way of selling cheap by cutting down materials :lol

The other cheap feature in the Versa USA is the long time adjustable side mirrors that has a lever just on the inside that u manually move lmfao!!

I went for a test drive of the versa yesterday..it drives alright, nothing special. I really like how it looks tho in terms of just looks the versa wins in my eyes.
I really wish the versa had a USB input in the deck tho. The basic yaris has recently dropped to 149. The yaris has the USB deck tho. So the major difference now is the USB deck vs the steering wheel controls.
I forgot to mention that the yaris engine in 1.3 while the versa is 1.5..that don't matter to me much tho.
There is a Versa model with USB deck and better rims but it is 18,000 more, not worth it if u ask me.
The fully loaded yaris have more features than this for 163,000.

I am going to test drive the yaris on Friday i'll make my decision after.

Yea it does and the sound system is pretty powerfull as well for stock..the deck also got a handsfree bluetooth feature and a USB & SD slot..that comes in pretty handy.
