I have a few 2 d cell maglites , there are ok , but i got a 2 aaa and a led bulb very very impressed and Don't know where to get these . The mags are good and after a battery leaked and got stuck in one . i really tested its toughness , fluids in side , took off everything thing an pounded it on concrete , eventually a hammer drill and a vice did the trick . After assembly it still worked , that is a tough torch .

I have niterider 600.I know it's a cycle light but it's bright 600 lumens and can be used as handheld
and its rechargeable USB
Image

with intentions to go with the
pro3000 soon, them cars will beg me to dip
I have noticed any led light with alkaline batteries leak,so if u buying buy rechargeable
or the torch uses a plastic battery holder, all them mag light led will leak eventually and then it's trash.

Check out the Fenix E21. http://www.amazon.com/Fenix-Flashlights ... =fenix+e21

I had a security company come by to inspect my premises one night and I used it to shine light in some dark areas. The officers then asked me where I got that light from and put away theirs.

My only complaint about it is battery life (3 hours), but I maintain a good stock of rechargeables.

How about a single AA battery challenge

Bring your single AA flashlight and see who's the brightest and shoots the furthest

Winner gets bragging rights

Need a dark location

18650 is the only way to go
AAA/AA is old school

^Yea but AAA/AA is readily avaliable if you in a pinch. Them exotic batteries does leave you in the dark if you don't have stocks, and they expensive.

I see eagle tac have a really good 18650 protected cell. You should really check it out:

Hmm sounds like a plan, but should we factor in spill and runtime also.
So there would be three competitions:-

a) Furthest reach
b) Most spill - you need a really dark place to gauge spill
c) Runtime - this will have to be done personally

only way most run time can be measured is if you all buy a pack of batts and everyone take one out of it and test it then run
