Juke reaches T&T

Neal & Massy Automotive brought the Nissan Juke to T&T in Naturally Aspirated *Automatic* and Turbocharged manual! Spoke with the finance director last night where he said that only seven (7) were brought and about two or three of them were the turbocharged manual models. A woman made the first down payment on one of the turbo models the day the car was launched. There was a N&M rally on last Friday 25th May with one of the vehicles on a 40ft trailer along with Music by Executive Sounds & N&M Models.

These vehicles have been available RORO more than a year now. Surprised to see N&M finally decided to bring them in. Wonder what's the price tag on one of these.

They're like 30k CAD- suprised at the price. Not exactly a low cost alternative to the murano and rogue.

^wait a sec there bub.

Now I agree that the pricing is bad, and the car looks horrendous.

But.....the SR16VE N1 put out around 180-190 hp (or whatever). But consider that that engine was a high revving N/A engine, which was intended for a sports car which was aimed at enthusiasts. In fact the N1 engine itself only made it to a few cars, correct?

The Juke is not an enthusiast's car, and has to be aimed at the average joe, heavy footed univ-student, grocery-getting-mom, etc etc, and has to meet int'l emissions stds. So having a high strung N/A engine which is picky about fuel quality and m'tce ain't practical in a car like the Juke.

188 hp 1.6DiT is quite a respectable figure for an engine which isn't tuned to the n'th degree. - the Mini Cooper S (turbo) and Veloster Turbo both put out about the same hp from the same displacement + turbo.
