3.0 hilux turbo swap

Anyone here ever used the turbo and manifold from a 3.0 (1kd-ftv) hilux/vigo on the 2.5 (2kd-ftv) model and does it fit directly?
Most importantly is the turbo the same or is the 3.0 turbo bigger?

it's a smaller turbo on the 2.5 and it's a fixed-vane turbo, not a variable-geometry vane turbo like the 1kd-ftv. ALso I believe the manifolds are differently shaped too, might not match up.

Also, it's not just the turbo that determines the power of the 1kd-ftv, it's also the ecu and the size of the injectors/timing, etc.

its a bit complicated being ECU controlled. i would do the conversion. do a search in australia, those guys seem capable of doing something like that

yeah, those aussies are CRAZY.

They'd probably do the swap, then break it, and say something like "yee mate, eet's broke. No point in feexin' eet, let's put a two-joi-zea innit mate!"
