Which phone to buy?

Postby altec » February 23rd, 2012, 3:53 am

I want to buy an android phone but I find that the most of them are really large. I bought the xperia mini but it was too small and the processing power was limited (the wife ended up borrowing it permanently). So what is there that is inbetween size wise, but has enough bells and whistles to keep me happy for about a year(good processor, gpu etc)?

A larger touchscreen is better (and more expensive) if you want to watch movies, play games, web browsing, view and edit documents, etc. The iPhone 4 has a 3.5" screen whereas most high end Android phones have 4" screens and larger.

I'd recommend the Samsung Galaxy S2 ($4000) or the cheaper Galaxy Ace (~$2000) if you're on a budget.

The note might be a bit too large for him. Should probably go with the Galaxy S2. The benefits of that device would surely outweight any issues he might have with respect to its size.

OP. i completely understand where u comin from.
i have a nexus s. its reasonable size.
cant stand anything with a screen larger than 4", too big.

its gonna be hard to find a decent spec quality android phone with a screen size less than 4.3" now.

thats one advantage i think the iphone has. its the perfect size IMO.

I'd buy the X10 as a step up if you don't want to spend the $ of an SII

wait for Samsung Galaxy S3

if that's too big, then go with the iPhone 4S.

DrunkenMaster16 you have me liking that Defy, but I don't like the limited OS availability.

Any custom ROMs for it?

kinda leaning to the s2, just the size throwing me off. I read that the s2 has problems with the camera( some kinda pink dot thing), and occasional problems with power. Anyone got problems like that with their galaxy s2?

You talking about the X10 mini right...cuz the Xperia mini has great processing from the reviews I've seen especially since there's quite a difference between the two :|
