edge in the bush works fast too! like in mayaro in off peak times.

SRASC wrote:Many reviews say that sometimes the lightness of a phone makes it have a cheap feel. I like the weight of the iPhone. A little heft, but not too much so it feels solid.

mitchy tek my point.... its the plastic that makes it feel cheap. for me i find its a bit too much. in my world, some things are meant to be lighter and not adding points towards carpal tunnel issues.

Swisha wrote:i'm sure it would have been lighter had they used plastic for the rear instead of glass.

but then it wouldn't have been as sexy

This year gonna be BIG for all players (except maybe RIM who will continue to lose market share).

I am disappoint.

I used to look forward to our Android vs iOS debates :)

I love open anything. If it wasn't for iOS, I'd be at the forefront of Android evangelism. But I believe in Apple's unified interface. Moving between iPad, iPhone and Lion on the iMac just feels seamless. It's like driving a Japanese car — no matter what you jump in, you can always count the lights, wipers, cigarette lighter etc being in the same relative position.

well i'm thinking of getting a MBP when the updates are released, which is also one of my reasons for going back to the iPhone. like u say, i want all my devices to be unified in the most seamless of ways.

at the same time, i'm glad the consumer preview for Windows 8 will be out at the end of this month.

so weighing all my options.

never used a WP device, but somehow i dont see myself swtiching to that anytime soon...

Ironically Microsoft fans are upset about Win8 for for PC and Mobile. And everyone else is excited, including myself. It just seems fresh and new.

Confirmed: Fleshlight Developing an iPad Case You Can Have Sex With

http://gizmodo.com/5878901/confirmed-fl ... u-can-bone

Image

The iPad's a darn attractive gadget, but that 30-pin connector ain't made for love. That's why this Fleshlight-holding iPad case concept caught our eye. Imagine all the things you could pretend to have sex with! And it turns out, it's not just some crazy, er, pipe dream. It, or something like it, is coming soon.

We've covered the Fleshlight and its many permutations both inside and out, so naturally when we heard about a fit this natural we took it on ourselves to figure out if a real version was in the works. Here's what we turned up, straight from Fleshlight COO Brian Shubin:

It's another exciting product we have in development at the moment. We are always looking to improve our user experience and this will be a way to take it to another level. Continue watching Fleshlight.com for it.

So there that is. F*ckable iPads, coming soon. We assume that it will launch with a geometrically opposite counterpart (read: dildo) as well.

Looks like OS X (should still be called Mac OS X in my opinion) is going to adapt an iOS-like release cycle. Here's the preview page for OS X Mountain Lion.
Apple has also released iMessage Beta for OS X Lion.*

*requires OS X Lion 10.7.3. Also not available due to apparent server issues. Site suggests trying in a couple of hours.

Apple Inc. wrote:CUPERTINO, California—February 16, 2012—Apple® today released a developer preview of OS X® Mountain Lion, the ninth major release of the world’s most advanced operating system, which brings popular apps and features from iPad® to the Mac® and accelerates the pace of OS X innovation. Mountain Lion introduces Messages, Notes, Reminders and Game Center to the Mac, as well as Notification Center, Share Sheets, Twitter integration and AirPlay® Mirroring. Mountain Lion is the first OS X release built with iCloud® in mind for easy setup and integration with apps. The developer preview of Mountain Lion also introduces Gatekeeper, a revolutionary security feature that helps keep you safe from malicious software by giving you complete control over what apps are installed on your Mac. The preview release of Mountain Lion is available to Mac Developer Program members starting today. Mac users will be able to upgrade to Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store™ in late summer 2012.

“The Mac is on a roll, growing faster than the PC for 23 straight quarters, and with Mountain Lion things get even better,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “The developer preview of Mountain Lion comes just seven months after the incredibly successful release of Lion and sets a rapid pace of development for the world’s most advanced personal computer operating system.”

The developer preview of Mountain Lion features the all new Messages app which replaces iChat® and allows you to send unlimited messages, high-quality photos and videos directly from your Mac to another Mac or iOS device. Messages will continue to support AIM, Jabber, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk. Starting today Lion users can download a beta of Messages from www.apple.com, and the final version will be available with Mountain Lion. Reminders and Notes help you create and track your to-dos across all your devices. Game Center lets you personalize your Mac gaming experience, find new games and challenge friends to play live multiplayer games, whether they’re on a Mac, iPhone®, iPad or iPod touch®.

Mountain Lion presents notifications in an elegant new way, and Notification Center provides easy access to alerts from Mail, Calendar, Messages, Reminders, system updates and third party apps. System-wide Share Sheets make it easy to share links, photos and videos directly from Apple and third party apps. Twitter is integrated throughout Mountain Lion so you can sign on once and tweet directly from Safari®, Quick Look, Photo Booth®, Preview and third party apps. Mountain Lion also introduces AirPlay Mirroring, an easy way to wirelessly send a secure 720p video stream of what's on your Mac to an HDTV using Apple TV®.

More than 100 million users have iCloud accounts, and Mountain Lion makes it easier than ever to set up iCloud and access documents across your devices. Mountain Lion uses your Apple ID to automatically set up Contacts, Mail, Calendar, Messages, FaceTime® and Find My Mac. The new iCloud Documents pushes any changes to all your devices so documents are always up to date, and a new API helps developers make document-based apps work with iCloud.

Gatekeeper is a revolutionary new security feature that gives you control over which apps can be downloaded and installed on your Mac. You can choose to install apps from any source, just as you do on a Mac today, or you can use the safer default setting to install apps from the Mac App Store, along with apps from developers that have a unique Developer ID from Apple. For maximum security, you can set Gatekeeper to only allow apps from the Mac App Store to be downloaded and installed.

Mountain Lion also has features specifically designed to support Chinese users, including significant enhancements to the Chinese input method and the option to select Baidu search in Safari. Mountain Lion makes it easy to set up Contacts, Mail and Calendar with top email service providers QQ, 126 and 163. Chinese users can also upload video via Share Sheets directly to leading video websites Youku and Tudou, and system-wide support for Sina weibo makes microblogging easy.

Hundreds of new APIs give developers access to new core technologies and enhanced features within OS X. The Game Kit APIs tap into the same services as Game Center on iOS, making it possible to create multiplayer games that work across Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. A new graphics infrastructure underpins OpenGL and OpenCL and implements GLKit, first introduced in iOS 5, to make it easier to create OpenGL apps. Using Core Animation in Cocoa apps is easier than ever, and new video APIs deliver modern 64-bit replacements for low-level QuickTime APIs. Enhanced Multi-Touch™ APIs give developers double-tap zoom support and access to the system-wide lookup gesture. Kernel ASLR improves security through enhanced mitigation against buffer overflow attacks.

Apple designs Macs, the best personal computers in the world, along with OS X, iLife, iWork and professional software. Apple leads the digital music revolution with its iPods and iTunes online store. Apple has reinvented the mobile phone with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, and is defining the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPad.

Help needed.

I have an iphone 4 running custom firmware ios 5.0.1 with preserved bb 4.10.01 which was originally AT+T but i used a gevey ultra and bmobile prepaid sim to unlock it.
the phone is jailbroken untethered.
it was working fine up to 2 days ago when the phone was rebooted.
since then i havent been able to get any signal.
i've gone through the gevey process over 20 times by now and it just ends up saying "invalid sim" followed by "no service"
i've tried changing the settings such as turning data roaming on and off during different attempts but nothing seems to work.

during the gevey process if i press accept, and dail 112 and end the call in 2 seconds, and i DONT turn on airplane mode, it will say "searching" and then i will get the carrier identified as "bmobileTSTT" for about 10 seconds (usually the carrier is shown as "bmobile" not "bmobileTSTT") and then it goes back to saying "no sim" or "invalid sim" or "no service"
when i follow the process and DO turn on airplane mode, i get the usual messages that show that the process should have worked, but end up getting "invalid sim" and then "no service" again.

i also tried the furiousmod from various sources but none of those seem to work either.

i dont know what to do at this point. please help!

sorry man. don't know much about gevey on iOS 5.

____

Got AssistantConnect to work. Wished i could share keys but I can't. It isn't my device.
Points to note:
1) if a person sends you keys while they are on edge/3G, you can only use siri on your unsupported device while on such a network. so to use it on wifi... get them to be on wifi.
2) you may need to put in the proxy https://guzzoni.apple.com/ (EXACTLY like that with all /'s)
3) you can try deleting the com.apple.assistant.plist in var/mobile/Library/Preferences if it doesnt work.
4) You need to turn off SpireHooks and SpireInjectors in Mobile Substrates (using SBSettings)

right now it only works for me on edge! lol. I must say though... Siri finding it really difficult to understand somethings. I just told her thanks for setting my alarm and she didnt comprehend :|
