Advice needed: 15" rims.

Postby nervewrecker » February 4th, 2012, 1:57 pm

Considering changing these 17" awhile now, I prefer a better ride over 'style' (not really seeing much 'style' in having thin tyres).
Anyhow, I considering putting back some 15" rims which is what these Almeras usually come with. I stopped by Rostons in Debe today & took a look around, saw some ok-ish 15's in there but mostly Ziglas. Havent heard good reviews on Ziglas so I wont be buying those.

I am looking for some advice on what might be a good enough brand (nothing too expensive) & come in the usual set of spokes like what I have.

Image

my spokes a bit rounded though (not like how these seem to be like a set of curved bars).

I priced the Zig's to be either $2700.00 or $2900.00 with tyres (cant remember if was 27 or 29).
What else is out here & where sells them? I checked the classifieds & finding mostly 17".

Preferably Black but im open to other options.

saw these by elvin in debe today, good or bad?

all are $2000.00 & $4100.00 with 205 60 series roadstone tyres. good rim or not, good deal or not?

Check out Shopboy's thread in the Auto Classifieds. His wheel and tyre prices are okay.

Is it true that the cost of a 15" tyre is more than the cost of a 16" tyre and tend to be harder to source?

Rory, smallest I saw is 16" (donno if I check the right threads).

gastly, I will see if I give them a check or call them if I get a number.

fari, I think it was 16" tyres hard to find (well a few years ago it was).

Rovin, I wanted to be odd....now everyone have damn black rims grrrr! Black has kinda become my signature in the area now so I may stick with it. The white, bronze and gun metal ones look good too.
I have heard Zig's break easy.

Aba, we looking for 15" here lol you gonna put 22" on your vic?

honestly, dont waste ur money on any rim made in taiwan or china

there are some powersellers or ppl selling really good used rims
stick to something made in japan and make sure u can see it stamped in the back of the rim
even if you pay 3000 for a set its well worth it
