Chutney Soca Monarch Semi-Finalists..No Ravi B

The results for the semi-final round of Chutney Soca Monarch are in and 43 of the best Chutney Soca stars have been selected to move on. The semi final leg will take place on January 21st at Rienzi Complex, Couva. But wait, no Ravi B this year? In a message posted on the wall of the Chutney Soca monarch fan page, Ravi B said “Goodluck to all the semi finalist at csm…will miss you guys this year….“. EM can only speculate why but that’s another interview. On Friday 13th January 2012, CSM announced that semi-finalist Rooplal Girdharie withdrew from the competition, in his place CSM decided to include two additional competitors Brian Mohan and Ranjeev.

We understand that this year the organizers received the largest number of submissions in the 16 years of the competitions existence. During the latter part of 2011 Southex Limited announced that the grand finals which was always based in South Trinidad would be moved to the Queens Park Oval on February 11th and we also heard many artistes were not happy with this decision!

No Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons in Soca Monarch this year...
This year their focus and objectives for carnival are a little different as is evident in the music. They recognize that Soca Monarch has done quite a lot for their careers and the careers of artistes on a whole and that William Munroe must be commended for all that he has done. Sounding rel good. Plenty energy and I love the vocals. Advantage was a better song though. I listened to the song and what I grasp is that Machel running out of ideas here, well in terms of powerful songs.

He will have a hard time winning yet again this year. Iwer's song take over right now and IMO, will win this year's competition.
