Lame as well. Mine only 3 days old so i hoping the battery improve as the tweaked update not showing up for me yet. it came with 5.0.1

SO hear this,
The Iphone 4 won't power on. Was in my pocket this evening, took it out ant attempted to get out of sleep mode and nothing.
Hold power button and all and it won't turn on.
Any assistance will be grateful.

Thanks to Casper, i just did a reset by holding the Power and Home Buttons and it turned on.
I was trying that and other combinations but i don't think I was holding it long enough.

At a Commonwealth Club of California event in San Francisco, Walter Isaacson said there is a possibility that he could expand on his Steve Jobs biography.

According to FORTUNE, Isaacson discussed potential plans for expanding the already 630-page book in the future. One possibility is doing an extensively annotated version. Another is writing an addendum that addresses the period surrounding Jobs' death. Fleshing out the details seems like a logical next step, since Isaacson believes the Apple (AAPL) CEO's story will be told for decades or a century to come. "This is the first or second draft," he said, referring to his book's role in documenting Jobs' life. "It's not the final draft."

Last week, the Steve Jobs biography topped Amazon's 2011 best sellers list after being published just weeks earlier on October 24, 2011.

iOS 5.1 has a little gem for wallpaper fanatics like me: Apple will include four new wallpapers in the iPad version of iOS 5.1 (likely the release launching alongside the iPad 3 next year). The new wallpapers are water crashing onto a sand beach, grass blades, and two ocean wallpapers. These are reminiscent of some of the OS X Lion wallpapers, but of course scaled to the iPad’s screen size.

Apple is yet to include these new wallpapers for the iPhone, but we shrunk them down to iPhone and iPod touch Retina size. They look pretty nice. Something interesting to note: Apple shipped an all-new wallpaper set with the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 was the first iPhone to include a new screen resolution, so Apple needed to make new wallpapers of the Retina size. Apple could be doing the very same thing here with the iPad, but we’ll have to see. To clarify, these downloads aren’t for a Retina iPad.

Apple's recommended solution for the issue is download and install the latest build of iOS 5 by restoring the unit through iTunes and confirming that the software version reads 5.0.1 (9A406)

The original 5.0.1 version is (9A405)

iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) have been designed to deal with intermittent "No Service" and "No SIM Card Installed" iPhone 4S messages

i know me too... a time i was updating my iPhone 4 and tinyumbrella had mess up my hosts as well and that caused a 3194. 3194 stems from failure to contact the server due to missing blobs.

Well the new build is the solution for the problem, maybe try resetting network settings > or all settings > or hard reset > restore again.

You could also try turning on/off airplane mode

I've tried the hard reset and also a full restore but the problem has come back. After a search on the web it seems to be a problem with the 4s. I guess I'll just have to wait around and see what comes out of it...

That was my first thought so I got a new sim but the problem still came back...

I had the issue with the 'No Service" happen twice.

Did the update and it never happened again. You tried setting up the device as a new one after you updated?

When I restored just used the backup data, not the new option. What did you use?
