yea they are....i not satisfied with my protein skimmer and want to add it to see if it helps...otherwise i might have to use the ordinary air stone :(

Yeah, i forgot about pantins, but if you use a normal air stone it wont work efficiently cause the bubbles will be real big compared to the wood diffuser ..................then you might have to invest in a pump style skimmer.
not the bayu (sp) brand though

guys i went out today marabella market and there was a guy selling a few fishes and my wife really liked the colored guppies and so i bought some . he also had a purple/blue fighter which she wanted so we bought it .. i came home and aclimatised to make sure and reduce the stress .now i had in the tank 2 kois and a gold fish ,looking at teh tank thisevening the fighter was lying on the gravel... any idea as to why it happened? the rest of the fishes seem fine ,moving around normal .

i wanna make sure i get the tank right before i move on to other fishes.

These petshops that have a certain "IMAGE" to keep. and mind you they not really "NU" to de hobby..................... they really crazy?

ah dont mind a man buying stuff and trying to make ah lil profit, but thats why when people tell me they want to set up a saltwater tank they always tell me it REAAAAAAL expensive. Friend of mine got quotes from them................. mind you they buy all the fish from raj. I going an call an see what prices they give me.

a blue/green chromis by raj is $75......................$500 by them
a yellow tang $400-475 (depending on size).........$800-1400
a peppermint shrimp $100...................................$400-700
a cleaner shrimp $300........................................800-1000
a lionfish $900-1200.........................................$3000-4000
price can even go up depending on where you live also. These people not in it for the love of the aquarium hobby.

hmm... that particular establishment gettin orn bad.. I go to say maybe raj should stop selling to them but that wouldnt make sense. People just have to be smart and shop around and learn of their other options.

Then again they prolly have their high end clientele.
